The items that I was able to purchase have helped to create an organized, inviting, fun environment for my class this year. They made my transition back into the classroom seamless and enjoyable.\r\n\r\nEach week on Friday afternoons we do free choice Friday. I have 8 baskets full of engaging, fun items that students can play with. After teaching for 10+ years my free choice Friday baskets were looking less than enticing. With the help of your donations I was able to restock and purchase so many fun new items such as: Magnatiles, magnetic blocks, board games, play-doh, and new markers. \r\n\r\nIn addition to this, I was able to purchase things to help the room run smoothly such as a digital clock that includes the date and weather, a new set of student whiteboards, a few sets of high interest graphic novels, small timers for math games, and a class set of water bottles that students earn with good behavior! It has been such a good feeling to know I have a well stocked room full of all the supplies I need this year and I have been thankful every single day for the gift of your generous donation!","fullyFundedDate":1753564660158,"projectUrl":"project/classroom-comeback/9405032/","projectTitle":"Classroom Comeback","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Wilbur","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp4377913_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1490642227898","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/4377913"},{"teacherId":8051965,"projectId":9347371,"letterContent":"my students were so screeching with excitement as they walked into class this morning as each students had a scientist coat and glasses to wear while diving into becoming zoologists. Your kindness has made an incredible impact on our classroom, and I wanted to share how your gift has enriched our reading experience.\r\n\r\nReading this novel together has allowed us to explore important themes like resilience, empathy, and personal growth. Through our discussions, students have been developing critical thinking skills, analyzing character development, and making deep connections between the book and their own lives. We've focused on how the protagonist, Doug, overcomes challenges—a lesson in perseverance that has resonated deeply with many of my students.\r\n\r\nIn our classroom, reading is an interactive and engaging experience. Whether it's through whole-class read-alouds, small-group discussions, or independent reflections, every student was so immersed in the story when we first read it, and now, having their own copy has empowered them to annotate, revisit key passages, and truly engage with the text in a meaningful way.\r\n\r\nOne student, who previously struggled to find joy in reading, has been particularly captivated by Okay for Now. They shared that Doug's story felt personal to them and that, for the first time, they saw themselves in a book. Moments like these remind me why access to books is so powerful.\r\n\r\nBecause of you, my students are not just reading (and actually re-reading) a book—they are experiencing a story that will stay with them long after they turn the final page.
