Cooking helps our students practice essential skills such as:\r\n\r\n• Following directions\r\n• Measuring and basic math\r\n• Reading and vocabulary\r\n• Safety skills\r\n• Teamwork and communication\r\n• Daily living skills they will use for the rest of their lives\r\n\r\nFor many of our students, learning how to prepare simple meals or snacks is a major step toward independence and confidence.\r\n\r\nWe are currently trying to build our classroom cooking program, but we need help gathering the basic equipment and materials to make these lessons possible.\r\n\r\nItems that would make a huge impact include:\r\n\r\n• Mixing bowls\r\n• Measuring cups and spoons\r\n• Baking pans\r\n• Electric griddles or skillets\r\n• Crockpots\r\n• Cooking utensils (spatulas, spoons, whisks)\r\n• Cutting boards\r\n• Food storage containers\r\n• Ingredients for simple recipes\r\n• Paper goods and cleaning supplies\r\n\r\nEvery donation — big or small — directly benefits our students by allowing them to participate in hands-on learning experiences that prepare them for life beyond the classroom.\r\n\r\nYour support helps create opportunities for students who often face extra challenges, and it means more than you know to them and to us.","fullyFundedDate":1766155347645,"projectUrl":"project/cooking-counts-math-life-skills-more/9907038/","projectTitle":"Cooking Counts: Math, Life Skills & More","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. CRAWFORD","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-3_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10334045"},{"teacherId":10334045,"projectId":9861725,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous donation of kitchen equipment for our special needs students.
