The new paint, glue sticks, and floor cushions have already become an essential part of our daily learning. One of our favorite recent moments was during a mixed-media self-portrait project. Students used the glue sticks to layer textured papers and painted backgrounds, and then gathered on the cushions in small groups to share their work and talk about the choices they made. That simple, comfortable seating helped turn our studio into a true creative community where students felt relaxed, inspired, and ready to express themselves.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials first arrived, the excitement was immediate. Students noticed everything — the fresh, vibrant paint colors, the full bins of glue sticks, and especially the soft cushions. Several students actually cheered, and one said, \"It feels like a real art studio now!\" Having quality, accessible supplies made them feel valued and taken seriously as young artists. Instead of worrying about running out or making do, they were free to experiment, take creative risks, and fully engage in the process.\r\n\r\nNext, we're beginning a collaborative mural project focused on themes of community and belonging. Students will sketch ideas, paint shared panels, and use collage techniques with our new supplies. The cushions will once again help us gather for planning sessions and reflection circles as students discuss how art can tell stories about who we are. Your support is not just providing materials — it's giving students the tools, space, and confidence to see themselves as artists and creative thinkers every single day.","fullyFundedDate":1765225151591,"projectUrl":"project/cotton-bowl-award-for-art-contest/9950545/","projectTitle":"Cotton Bowl Award for Art Contest","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Grob","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9239060_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1694142621118","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9239060"},{"teacherId":9239060,"projectId":8998226,"letterContent":"We at Janet Brockett Art Studio are immensely thankful for your generous contributions to our school art program.
