The day the materials arrived, the students who have been participating in the garden club came down to my room to see what we got. They were so excited to see all the seeds to grow food. These kids really wanted to do something for the community and these seeds will allow them to grow food for our school families. At the same time, they'll be learning skills to grow food at home for the rest of their lives. In time, other classes and groups will also be involved in the garden and benefit from these materials too.\r\n\r\nNext, they put our storage box together. It's such a convenience to have a waterproof container to hold all of our essentials so we don't have to carry everything out every time. I just watched, the kids figured it all out and they built it themselves!\r\n\r\nFinally, the best was when they saw they all got a pair of gardening gloves with extra gloves to spare. One said, \"Now we can work without getting slivers and so dirty!\". We'll have produce in the spring.
