We are already using the materials daily during small-group literacy instruction and independent practice. One of our favorite moments so far was watching students use the reading games to practice decoding and comprehension skills—they were so engaged that they didn't even realize how much reading they were doing. The texts have allowed me to better differentiate instruction, meeting students right where they are while still keeping lessons fun and meaningful.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the materials, their excitement was immediate. They were eager to explore the games, ask questions, and dive into the new books. Several students commented on how \"fun\" reading felt, which is always a win in the classroom. The hands-on nature of the games helped build confidence, especially for students who typically feel hesitant during reading time.\r\n\r\nNext, we will continue using these resources as part of our ongoing phonics and comprehension lessons. Students will rotate through reading centers where they apply decoding strategies, practice fluency, and respond to texts using the materials you provided. These resources are helping us build stronger, more confident readers, and your generosity is having a lasting impact on their learning every single day.","fullyFundedDate":1763502830949,"projectUrl":"project/help-my-students-explore-the-world-throu/9881271/","projectTitle":"Help My Students Explore the World Through Reading","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Harris","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10041518_orig.jpg?crop=1283,1283,x0,y21&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1753019314428","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10041518"},{"teacherId":10046858,"projectId":9631444,"letterContent":"The impact of this project has already shown! It helped students learn practical ways to manage big feelings through hands-on SEL lessons. Instead of just talking about coping strategies, students were able to create and use their own tools to help with stress, frustration, and focus during the school day. Having something concrete made the learning more meaningful and helped students practice self-regulation in real moments when they needed it.\r\n\r\nStudents were most excited about personalizing their coping tools and making something they could actually keep and use. Several students who struggle with anxiety, attention, or emotional regulation especially connected with the project and began using their tools independently to calm themselves and refocus. Teachers even gave immediate feedback on how it helped the student regulate themselves over the next couple days.
