It helped students learn practical ways to manage big feelings through hands-on SEL lessons. Instead of just talking about coping strategies, students were able to create and use their own tools to help with stress, frustration, and focus during the school day. Having something concrete made the learning more meaningful and helped students practice self-regulation in real moments when they needed it.\r\n\r\nStudents were most excited about personalizing their coping tools and making something they could actually keep and use. Several students who struggle with anxiety, attention, or emotional regulation especially connected with the project and began using their tools independently to calm themselves and refocus. Teachers even gave immediate feedback on how it helped the student regulate themselves over the next couple days. Overall, these lessons helped students feel more confident, supported, and ready to learn.
