Thanks to your generosity, students are using the furniture, games, books, and other resources every single day to build friendships, strengthen communication skills, and create meaningful connections with one another.\r\n\r\nSince the materials have arrived in our room, the students immediately gravitated toward the new space. They eagerly explored the Where's Waldo books together, gathered around to play card games, and sat comfortably talking with classmates. Since then, this area has become the first place many students visit when they arrive each morning. The excitement has been so great that students have even asked if we can make the space bigger so that more friends can join at the same time!\r\n\r\nThe space immediately fostered a sense of belonging and community.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we will continue using this area to support our classroom community and collaborative learning. Students are working on building stronger communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills through partner and small-group activities. The community space provides a natural setting for these interactions and encourages students to support one another both academically and socially. Thanks to your generosity, our classroom has become a more connected, inclusive, and welcoming place for every student.\r\n\r\nThank you for making this project possible. Your support has created opportunities for students to connect, grow, and build lasting relationships each day.","fullyFundedDate":1775139281129,"projectUrl":"project/tiny-seats-big-conversations/9942526/","projectTitle":"Tiny Seats, Big Conversations","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Johnson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9700142_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1764740023178","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/kjohnson-jcs"},{"teacherId":1897236,"projectId":10175476,"letterContent":"My students are just completing their woven tapestry projects and they are so happy! This project spans several weeks and takes a lot of patience and perseverance on their parts. We start off by learning about what weaving is and how weaving has been utilized all over the world for centuries. Next the students learn about the actual process of weaving. Once they have a basic understanding of the vocabulary and process we teach them to make a \"yarn bobbin\" where they loop a strand of yarn over their thumb and pinky finger several times to make a neat and tidy mini-spool of yarn that they can then weave with on their very own cardboard loom. The joy when they first learn how to make these is so sweet. Many students beg to take some yarn home so they can show their families.\r\n\r\nFinally the looms come out and we start weaving. Sometimes there is frustration. Sometimes there is fatigue and they want to stop. Sometimes there are even tears when mistakes are made and it is necessary to go back and correct the errors. All of this is character building and when they ultimately weave enough on their loom and are told it is time to \"tie off\" their project there is absolute joy. I wish you could see the smiles on each and every one of their little faces. \r\n\r\nI want to thank you again for helping us make this project possible. I know that everything is expensive these days and there are many other worthy causes you can donate to. Thank you for choosing us and for helping my students learn and create something that they will treasure for years to come.","fullyFundedDate":1776447356152,"projectUrl":"project/textile-arts-for-little-hands/10175476/","projectTitle":"Textile Arts for Little Hands","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. House","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp1897236_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1538355647395","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/1897236"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_78555","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":462,"numTeachers":21,"percentFrplEligible":34,"percentAsian":2,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":73,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":11,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":11,"gradesServed":"Pre-K - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"22.0:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":83.8,"schoolId":78555,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Jacoby Creek Charter School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Jacoby Creek Charter School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/jacoby-creek-school-district/jacoby-creek-elementary-school/78555"}
