I had not told them what we are getting, just that some very kind people had helped our classroom by providing us money so we could buy new art supplies. When we opened the boxes there were squeels and cheers of delight. One of the first materials we tapped into were some super bright crayons which we used to illustrate our \"published\" poems for our poetry unit. In the photos I share you can see some of the students working on drawing doves to illustrate our poems about peace. \r\n\r\nEvery year our students put on a class play. This year the second grade's play was titled, \"Welome to the Redwoods.\" The art supplies came just in time for use to utilize them in set design. In the play the kiddos were either scientistis, tourists or redwood creatures enjoying the forest and sharing facts about the redwood forest ecosystem. \r\n\r\nI still have a couple supplies set aside for later. One of the items I was able to purchase were some canvas tote bags which I am going to hang on to until the end of the school year as a special surprise. We will use the paint pens to decorate them as invididual totes to carry all their second grade writing books and art projects at the end of the year. This will be something each student can keep as a special rememberance of second grade for years to come. \r\n\r\nOnce again, I can't thank you enough for helping my students this year.","fullyFundedDate":1734445246948,"projectUrl":"project/getting-crafty-in-2025/8999049/","projectTitle":"Getting Crafty in 2025","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. House","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp1897236_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1538355647395","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/1897236"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_78555","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":462,"numTeachers":21,"percentFrplEligible":34,"percentAsian":2,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":73,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":11,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"22.0:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":86.5,"schoolId":78555,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Jacoby Creek Charter School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Jacoby Creek Charter School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/jacoby-creek-school-district/jacoby-creek-elementary-school/78555"}
