Many of my students do not often receive recognition for non-academic achievements, so being acknowledged for their physical effort and character traits was incredibly powerful.\r\n\r\nWhen students received these awards, their confidence visibly increased. They felt proud, valued, and motivated to continue giving their best effort. The inclusion of snacks and sensory items made the awards feel special and personalized, which further reinforced positive behavior and engagement.\r\n\r\nBeyond individual recognition, the awards helped strengthen our overall classroom culture. Students became more encouraging toward one another, worked harder during activities, and set higher expectations for themselves. Several students who had not previously stood out began asking how they could earn an award, which led to improved participation, cooperation, and focus during class.\r\n\r\nThis project supported not only physical fitness but also social-emotional growth by reinforcing responsibility, self-discipline, and leadership. Because of this project, my students now see physical education as a space where hard work and positive choices are noticed and celebrated.\r\n\r\nThank you for helping create a motivating and supportive learning environment where every student feels inspired to grow and succeed.","fullyFundedDate":1758202800181,"projectUrl":"project/moving-toward-excellence/9625980/","projectTitle":"Moving Toward Excellence","teacherDisplayName":"Coach Zano","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9727033_orig.png?crop=667,667,x0,y253&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1725387920548","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9727033"},{"teacherId":8723945,"projectId":8931615,"letterContent":"Even though this year came with its challenges, my students were able to maintain focus because their basic needs were met in the classroom. The availability of these items not only kept them prepared but also helped create a learning space where they felt supported and cared for.
