The use of Kindle Fires will be a daily activity in my classroom during math and reading rotations. Many of my students are emerging readers and need to hear reading in order to learn. The Kindle Fire will give them the opportunity to choose fiction and non-fiction titles that are interesting to them. This will give them a chance to access reading independently. In Math, students will have an opportunity to use games to learn number sense and concepts. My students struggle to learn and perform academic tasks and activities in the traditional format. With access to technology they will be able to engage in reading and math activities that focus on specific skill areas to strengthen their learning. Technology will provide an opportunity for them to demonstrate their learning through writing in their own unique way! The students can use the tablets in the listening center during centers and also allow them to participate in engaging and meaningful workstations.
The use of the tablets is another form of differentiation, I will be able to meet each students individual needs. By donating to this project, you will not only help to improve and increase student attention and focus, you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement.
