As the literacy lead supporting grades K–5, I move constantly between classrooms—but right now, I'm especially focused on fluency instruction with our 3rd–5th graders. This trolley has transformed the way I'm able to deliver that support.\r\n\r\nThe trolley has become my fully equipped fluency station on wheels. Each morning, I stock it with our fluency posters, weekly learning targets, high-interest passages, poetry texts, and the students' shared text for the week. Because everything is organized and ready to go, I can roll into any classroom and jump straight into teaching without wasting time gathering materials.\r\n\r\nRecently, during a 3rd-grade fluency lesson, students were practicing accuracy and phrasing with a shared poetry passage. I used the magnetic whiteboard on the trolley to model how to mark pauses and highlight key vocabulary. The students rotated through short, focused practice rounds, and because all the tools—timers, markers, sentence strips, and our fluency rubric—were right on the cart, we kept the momentum going. \r\n\r\nWhen I first rolled the trolley into the upper-grade classrooms, the students immediately noticed the colorful posters and the neatly organized bins labeled for each fluency skill. They were excited to see the weekly text displayed on the magnetic board and loved that everything we needed was right there. \r\n\r\nOur 3rd–5th graders are now working on building fluency through repeated readings, partner practice, and performance activities. In the coming weeks, we'll be moving into more advanced skills such as reading with purposeful pacing and using punctuation to guide expression. The trolley will continue to support these lessons by keeping our fluency materials accessible and consistent across classrooms.\r\n\r\nThank you for supporting our school and helping us bring high-quality literacy instruction directly to students. Your generosity has strengthened the learning experience for so many children—and this \"rolling classroom\" is helping us make every minute count.","fullyFundedDate":1755717835175,"projectUrl":"project/rolling-into-organized-teaching/9361237/","projectTitle":"Rolling Into Organized Teaching!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Castro","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-10_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/2146218"},{"teacherId":10045182,"projectId":9383134,"letterContent":"Currently, we are using our instruments in small groups and one-on-one with students. Beginning this month, however, we're thrilled to expand into our 1st and 2nd grade classrooms to share the power of mindful melodies with even more students.\r\n\r\nBoth our younger and older students are already finding joy in exploring sound bowls and discovering how music can support self-regulation. Their favorite part is getting to play the instruments themselves and creating harmonized melodies with peers and experiencing the magic of sound together.\r\n\r\nRecently, during a small group, students excitedly shared that when certain notes/bowls were played, they could feel the vibrations in their head, throat, or chest. This led to a thoughtful discussion about the connection between our thoughts, emotions, and body sensations which is a powerful first step in understanding how music can help us manage big feelings and bring balance to our minds and bodies.\r\n\r\nIn the months ahead, we will continue introducing the calming and restorative power of sound bowls, chimes, and rain drums as tools for emotional regulation. Looking toward spring, I am especially excited to see students take the lead—sharing their new skills and insights with one another, building both confidence and community through music.","fullyFundedDate":1748619173912,"projectUrl":"project/mindful-melodies-helping-elementary-kid/9383134/","projectTitle":"Mindful Melodies: Helping Elementary Kiddos Regulate Through Sound","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Luna","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10045182_orig.jpg?crop=2316,2316,x0,y640&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1748452309303","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10045182"},{"teacherId":9890662,"projectId":9045443,"letterContent":"The students fell in love with reading.
