Our class is 100% free/reduced lunch, and 100% motivated to learn! They come to school on time, bring their homework, and greet me each morning excited about what we will study. Although they are not likely to have ever traveled outside the borders of our city, each of my students deserves that opportunity. Therefore, I spend hours searching and printing images from home to try and bring the world to their doorsteps. Science topics such as plants, animals, and the states of matter engage my students. Citizenship, goods and services, and learning about our country are just a few of the social studies topics we study in first grade. An iPad will make all of these come alive.
