The students were so excited to learn that members of the community cared enough to donate instruments just for them—I could tell they truly felt special. Since the bells arrived, we've used them in all kinds of engaging ways. Students have been exploring steady beats, creating rhythmic patterns, and even composing melodic borduns to accompany their singing. We've also been using the bells to practice chords and chord changes, which has helped students better understand musical structure. One of their favorite activities is using the bells to play the same melodies they're learning on the recorder—it's been a great way to reinforce their skills across instruments.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we're beginning a new project where students will be given rhythmic patterns and will compose their own melodies to match, using the resonator bells. This next step will challenge them to think creatively and musically as they build something entirely their own. The younger students will be using the bells to demonstrate different tempos and dynamics. Your support has not only brought joy and excitement to our classroom, but it has also opened up meaningful, hands-on learning opportunities that deepen their musical understanding.
