I use the bright colors to highlight important vocabulary, provide visual supports, and make key information easier to identify and remember. Students are excited to see the colorful materials and have become more engaged in using them as they learn new academic language and tackle challenging 5th grade content.\r\n\r\nWhat may look like simple folders and colored paper have become important tools for building confidence, organization, and belonging. My students are learning that they have the tools to be successful, and that they can independently manage their materials and access grade level learning.
