This space, equipped with weighted stuffed animals and other self-regulation tools, has become a safe haven for students who need a moment to process their emotions. Whether they are feeling overwhelmed, frustrated, or anxious, they know they can go to the Calm Down Corner to take a break and use the resources available to help them regain their sense of balance.\r\n\r\nThe weighted stuffies, in particular, have been a favorite among students. The gentle pressure they provide offers a comforting, grounding sensation that helps children feel secure and supported. Many students have shared that holding a weighted stuffed animal helps them calm their breathing and refocus, allowing them to return to their learning with a clearer mind. Beyond just emotional regulation, this space has also encouraged students to develop self-awareness and recognize when they need a break—a crucial skill for lifelong well-being.\r\n\r\nThis donation has not only provided tangible tools for emotional support but has also fostered a classroom culture of empathy and understanding. Students are learning that it's okay to have big feelings and that they have the power to manage them in a healthy way. Because of this, we've seen a decrease in classroom conflicts and an increase in students supporting one another through tough moments. The impact of this gift reaches far beyond the physical space—it has created a classroom environment where students feel valued, heard, and empowered to take care of their emotional needs.","fullyFundedDate":1735660393146,"projectUrl":"project/1-2-3-breathe-calm-down-corner-to/8731168/","projectTitle":"1, 2, 3, Breathe...
