Your generosity transformed an idea into a meaningful experience that honored survivors, remembered loved ones, and educated students about compassion, advocacy, and service. Because of you, our classroom became a place where learning met purpose and kindness was tangible.\r\n\r\nThe materials you funded allowed us to create engaging, hands-on activities that brought breast cancer awareness to life. Students designed and pressed custom shirts using the iron-on vinyl and Gildan crew t-shirts, proudly wearing pink to spark conversations about early detection and support. The bright vinyl colors gave students creative freedom while reinforcing the message that awareness can be both powerful and personal.\r\n\r\nOur Pink Out day was filled with joy and unity thanks to the breast cancer awareness crew socks and pink ribbon rubber ducks. These small but meaningful items reminded students that symbols matter and that standing together sends a strong message of hope, faith, strength, and courage. The ducks and socks became conversation starters, allowing students to share stories and ask thoughtful questions in a safe, supportive environment.\r\n\r\nThe assortment of treats helped us create celebration-style awareness stations and care packages. Ring Pop lollipops, Airheads, Nerds, Sour Patch Kids, Swedish Fish, Haribo, Jolly Rancher, Twizzlers, pink strawberry chews, Hershey Miniatures, and Welch's fruit snacks brought smiles while reinforcing that giving back can still be fun. Using the hot pink cellophane bags, Halloween gift sets, and cardstock, students assembled themed goodie bags with handwritten notes of encouragement, learning empathy through action.\r\n\r\nWe also used the Torani flavored drink syrups to host a small thank-you and reflection station, where students and staff gathered to talk about why breast cancer awareness matters. These moments of connection were just as impactful as the physical materials.\r\n\r\nBecause of your support, students didn't just learn about breast cancer awareness—they practiced leadership, creativity, teamwork, and compassion. They learned that communities come together to support one another during difficult journeys, and that even small acts can make a meaningful difference.\r\n\r\nYour belief in our students and in this cause made everything possible. Thank you for investing in education with heart, for supporting awareness, and for helping us create an experience that will stay with our students far beyond this project. Because of you, our students will benefit from resources that enhance their learning, well-being, creativity, and cultural understanding in meaningful and lasting ways. Your kindness goes far beyond the items themselves—it creates experiences, opportunities, and moments of joy that our students will carry with them.\r\n\r\nThe Global Grub DIY Morimoto Mochi Donut Kit will provide students with a unique and engaging hands-on learning experience. Through this activity, students will explore global cuisine while practicing essential academic skills such as reading directions, measuring ingredients, applying math concepts, and collaborating with peers. This kit also opens the door for cultural discussions about food traditions from around the world, helping students build curiosity, respect, and appreciation for diverse cultures. Learning through food is both memorable and impactful, and this experience will leave a lasting impression on our students.\r\n\r\nThe LEGO Lunar New Year Festival Calendar is another wonderful addition to our classroom. This set will allow students to learn about the Lunar New Year and Dragon Boat Festival in a fun, creative, and interactive way. By building and exploring this calendar, students strengthen problem-solving, fine motor skills, and teamwork while also gaining insight into global traditions and holidays. It provides an excellent opportunity for cross-curricular learning by blending social studies, creativity, and hands-on construction.\r\n\r\nWe are also deeply grateful for the Dreo humidifiers you donated. Maintaining a comfortable and healthy classroom environment is essential for student focus and well-being. These humidifiers will help improve air quality, support respiratory health, and create a calmer learning space—especially during colder months when dry air can cause discomfort. A comfortable classroom allows students to focus better, feel more at ease, and engage more fully in their learning.\r\n\r\nThe Aquaphor Lip Repair packs are another thoughtful and practical contribution. These will help students stay comfortable and confident throughout the school day by relieving dryness and discomfort, especially during seasonal weather changes. Small comforts like these make a big difference in helping students stay focused and ready to learn.\r\n\r\nAdditionally, the Momofuku Sweet and Spicy Noodles will be a special treat for our students. Sharing food together helps build a sense of community, belonging, and excitement in the classroom. These noodles will allow students to experience new flavors while learning about modern food culture and global influences, making it both an enjoyable and educational experience.\r\n\r\nEvery item you donated supports not only academic growth but also emotional well-being, cultural awareness, and classroom community. Your compassion and support have made a meaningful difference in the lives of our students and families at our Title I middle school in the Bronx, where food insecurity remains a daily challenge for many.\r\n\r\nFor far too many of our students, access to consistent and nutritious food is not guaranteed. Some arrive at school hungry, while others worry about where their next meal will come from once the school day ends. Because of your generosity, our On-the-Go Pantry now provides students with discreet, reliable access to food they can take with them—ensuring they have nourishment beyond the cafeteria and the reassurance that someone cares about their well-being.\r\n\r\nThe pantry offers easy-to-carry, nutritious food items that students can grab without drawing attention or feeling embarrassed. This simple act of availability has had a powerful impact. Students are more focused in class, more engaged with their learning, and more at ease knowing they have food to sustain them throughout the day or into the evening. Families, many of whom are balancing financial hardship, have expressed deep appreciation for the additional support during difficult times.\r\n\r\nBeyond meeting a physical need, your support sends an important message to our students: they are seen, valued, and supported. In a community where families often face economic uncertainty, your generosity reminds our students that there are people beyond their school walls who believe in their success and care about their health and dignity. That message alone has helped build trust, confidence, and a stronger sense of belonging within our school community.\r\n\r\nThe impact of this project reaches beyond individual students. Teachers and staff have noticed improved attendance, increased participation, and a more positive school climate. When basic needs are met, students are better equipped to learn, grow, and thrive. Your donations have helped create an environment where students can focus on being children and learners, rather than worrying about hunger.\r\n\r\nWe are deeply inspired by the DonorsChoose community and your commitment to educational equity. By funding this project, you have addressed a critical need and helped remove one of the many barriers our students face each day. What may seem like a small gesture—a snack, a meal, a bag of food—has become a source of stability and hope for many of our families.\r\n\r\nThank you for your generosity, your compassion, and your belief in our students. Your kindness and belief in the power of community-centered projects transformed a simple idea into a warm, joyful experience that brought people together during the holiday season.\r\n\r\nIn a community where many families face daily challenges, moments of comfort, connection, and celebration are especially meaningful. Because of your support, our Holiday Cocoa and Cookie Café became more than just an event—it became a space filled with laughter, warmth, and togetherness. Families, students, and neighbors gathered to enjoy hot cocoa, freshly baked cookies, and the simple pleasure of being welcomed into a festive, inclusive environment. For many, this café offered a rare chance to slow down, connect with others, and feel the spirit of the holidays in a tangible way.\r\n\r\nYour donations helped us provide high-quality supplies, ingredients, and materials that elevated the experience for everyone involved. From rich cocoa and delicious cookies to decorations that created a cozy holiday atmosphere, every detail reflected the care and generosity of donors who wanted to make a difference. The smiles on the faces of children as they sipped cocoa, the conversations shared between neighbors, and the sense of pride felt by volunteers all serve as powerful reminders of the impact your support has had.\r\n\r\nBeyond the treats themselves, this project fostered a sense of belonging and community pride. It reminded our participants that they are valued and supported, and that people beyond their neighborhood believe in investing in their joy and well-being. For our students and young volunteers, the café also provided an opportunity to learn about service, teamwork, and gratitude—lessons that will stay with them long after the holiday season has ended.\r\n\r\nWe are truly inspired by the DonorsChoose community and your commitment to uplifting schools and neighborhoods like ours in the Bronx. Your generosity demonstrates how collective giving can create meaningful change, even through something as simple as a cup of cocoa and a cookie. Because of you, our classroom now has a walking pad and vibrating plate machines that are already transforming the learning experience for students with autism and ADHD. Your kindness has provided more than equipment; you have given our students dignity, regulation, and the chance to learn in ways that honor who they are.\r\nMany of my students experience challenges with focus, sensory regulation, and excess energy that make traditional classroom expectations difficult. Sitting still for long periods can be overwhelming, and when bodies are dysregulated, learning becomes harder. The walking pad allows students to move purposefully while engaging in lessons, reading, or problem solving. The vibrating plates offer calming sensory input that helps students reset, refocus, and feel grounded. These tools meet students where they are and support their individual needs without drawing attention or stigma.\r\nSince introducing this equipment, I have already noticed meaningful changes. Students who once struggled to remain engaged are participating longer and with greater confidence. Transitions are smoother, frustration is reduced, and students are more aware of their own bodies and needs. Perhaps most importantly, students feel empowered. They are learning that movement and sensory support are not distractions, but strategies that help them succeed academically and emotionally.\r\nThese tools also promote independence and responsibility. Students are taught how and when to use the walking pad or vibrating plate appropriately, building self awareness and executive functioning skills. They are practicing decision making, self monitoring, and emotional regulation in real time. This sense of ownership helps students feel trusted and respected, which strengthens classroom community and improves peer relationships.\r\nAdditionally, these resources support a calmer, more focused classroom environment for everyone. When students can regulate their bodies, instruction flows more smoothly, peer interactions improve, and instructional time is maximized. The benefits extend to the entire learning community, creating a space where all students can succeed together.\r\nYour support sends a powerful message to our students: they matter, their needs matter, and they deserve access to tools that help them thrive. For students with autism and ADHD, this message is life changing. It fosters self acceptance and helps them build lifelong skills in self regulation and advocacy. These are lessons that extend far beyond our classroom walls.\r\nAs a teacher, I am deeply grateful to work with donors who understand that learning is not one size fits all. You recognized the importance of inclusive, supportive environments and took action to make that vision a reality. Because of you, our classroom is a place where movement is welcomed, differences are celebrated, and every student has a fair chance to succeed.\r\nThank you for believing in our students and investing in their potential. Their squishy, stretchy textures provided students with a safe and calming outlet to release stress, manage anxiety, and refocus during lessons. I observed students who often struggled with restlessness or frustration become more engaged and able to remain present during instruction simply by having access to these tactile supports.\r\nThe CanDo TheraPutty sets and mini sensory mats further expanded opportunities for growth and inclusion. The putty supported fine motor development, hand strength, and focus, especially for students receiving occupational therapy or requiring additional sensory input. The textured sensory mats and suction toys encouraged exploration, cooperative play, and self-regulation while honoring diverse sensory needs.
