The students were super excited to get and use the materials once I announced that the project was funded. All the materials received were such a great addition to an already fun and exciting unit.\r\n\r\nThe materials were used throughout different times during the unit. The books were specifically used at an art station during the astronomy day where they got to use them as a resource when either copying a current constellation or creating a new one. They were also allowed to use them as a reference when doing a report on planets and for general enjoyment throughout the theme. The telescope was part of an outside station where they got to look at the sun as well as the moon. Some of the students had commented that they have never used a telescope before and glad for the experience and opportunity. I think the most anticipated material that we received and used was the refracting telescope kits where the students were able to use a simple constructed telescope, and learn about the basic components of any telescope. Most of the students wanted to take them home afterwards, but I had to share the sad news that the materials had to stay with the classroom for future students to enjoy and use.\r\n\r\nThank you again for the nice donation that added many wonderful and educational hands-on experiences this year for our study of the multiple things found in our solar system. The magnetic wands have been such a great support to us in building our students reading skills. We have so many students who have begun to read.\r\n\r\nThe Kindergarten students just love to use them and we are so grateful that you helped to provide these to our school and Kindergarten grade level. Thank you for all that you have done to support me and our school.
