Receiving their own copy of Tale of a Fourth Grade Nothing along with Goldfish snacks was a fun and memorable surprise that students were excited to take home. Many students immediately noticed that the story was about a fourth grader, which made them even more eager to read it. The Goldfish snacks were also a huge hit, and students couldn't wait to enjoy them while celebrating the end of a successful school year.\r\nReading in our classroom has always been an important part of our day, and this gift helped extend that love of reading beyond our classroom walls. When students received their books, several of them started reading before the school day even ended because they were so excited to see what happened in the story. It was wonderful to see students genuinely excited about taking a book home and having a new story to enjoy during the summer months.\r\nSome students were especially thrilled to receive a book of their own to keep. For many, it was a meaningful reminder of the progress they made as readers throughout third grade. This project helped celebrate their hard work, encourage continued reading over the summer, and create a positive connection with books that will hopefully last long after they leave our classroom. Thank you for helping us end the year with smiles, excitement, and a shared love of reading.","fullyFundedDate":1774974880092,"projectUrl":"project/turning-pages-crunching-smiles/10170583/","projectTitle":"Turning Pages & Crunching Smiles","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Latanya","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10425893_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1769911110950","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10425893"},{"teacherId":10425893,"projectId":10204731,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for supporting our classroom and helping us create a more welcoming and organized learning environment! We are using the new stools, bookshelves, rug, literacy organizer, and teacher rolling cart every day. These resources have helped transform our classroom into a space that is both functional and inviting. The bookshelves and literacy organizer have made it easier for students to access books and learning materials independently, while the stools provide flexible seating options that encourage collaboration and engagement. The new rug has become a gathering space for whole-group lessons, class discussions, and read-alouds.\r\n\r\nOne of my favorite moments was watching students eagerly help set up the new furniture. When the materials arrived, students were thrilled and immediately began talking about our \"classroom makeover.\" They were excited to help organize books, arrange materials, and prepare the new learning spaces. Their enthusiasm showed how much they value their classroom environment, and they took great pride in helping create a space where everyone could learn comfortably. The new rug and furniture quickly became some of their favorite additions to the classroom.\r\n\r\nAs we continue our learning journey, these resources will support students in a variety of upcoming literacy and collaborative projects. Students will use the organized classroom library to select books for independent reading and book discussions, while the flexible seating options will support small-group activities and collaborative learning. The literacy organizer will help students access materials needed for reading and writing lessons, and the improved classroom setup will allow us to maximize instructional time. These resources will continue to help create a positive, engaging learning environment where students feel excited to learn, collaborate, and grow. The new texts have introduced students to important reading skills such as making predictions, identifying themes, analyzing characters, building vocabulary, and making connections between historical events and literature. Many of the books have sparked meaningful discussions and encouraged students to think critically about what they are reading. One of the most popular series in our classroom is *I Survived*, which has inspired students to learn more about history while strengthening their reading comprehension skills.\r\n\r\nReading is an important part of our classroom every day. Students spend time independently reading books that interest them, participating in small-group discussions, and sharing recommendations with their classmates. The upgrade to our classroom library was met with tremendous excitement. Students were eager to explore the new books, and many immediately found titles they wanted to read. Their enthusiasm for reading continued all the way through the end of the school year, with many students choosing to keep reading whenever they had free time.\r\n\r\nSeveral students have especially benefited from these new resources. Some students who previously struggled to find books that interested them became excited readers after discovering new series and genres. The *I Survived* books were a favorite among many students and were often checked out as soon as they were returned. In addition, the snacks made a significant difference for students who did not bring a daily snack from home. Having access to a snack helped them stay focused on learning and fully participate in classroom activities. At times, I was even able to offer two snacks to students who were especially hungry and needed the extra support. These resources helped ensure that students' basic needs were met so they could concentrate on learning, reading, and growing as students.\r\n\r\nThank you again for your generosity and for making such a positive impact on our classroom. Your support helped create an environment where students felt excited to read, eager to learn, and ready to succeed.","fullyFundedDate":1773863541066,"projectUrl":"project/books-and-bites-for-bright-minds/10131698/","projectTitle":"Books and Bites for Bright Minds","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Latanya","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10425893_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1769911110950","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10425893"},{"teacherId":10425893,"projectId":10076316,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for supporting our classroom! We have been using our new whiteboard kidney table every day during small-group instruction. It has quickly become one of the most valuable resources in our classroom. The whiteboard surface allows students to actively participate by writing, solving problems, brainstorming ideas, and showing their thinking in real time. It has made teaching small groups more fun, more convenient, and more interactive. Students are more willing to ask for help because they can work alongside me in a comfortable, engaging setting.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the table set up in the classroom, they were incredibly excited. It immediately became one of their favorite parts of the room! They were eager to sit there, write on the surface, and participate in lessons. The excitement around the table helped create a positive learning environment, and students were asking when they would get a chance to work there. Their enthusiasm made it clear that this resource would have a meaningful impact on their learning experience.\r\n\r\nAs we continue our current lessons and projects, the whiteboard kidney table will remain a central part of our small-group instruction. Students will use it to practice new skills, collaborate with peers, receive targeted support, and build confidence in their learning. We are excited to continue using this resource to make learning engaging, encourage participation, and help every student succeed.
