The change has been impressive and students were buzzing with delight at the calmer darker room. Each class as they first arrived had hushes of Ahs and Os as they came into our newly designed learning environment. \r\n\r\nOur classroom tables had been given away at the beginning of the year and I had to scramble to create enough seating options for my largest group, 32 third graders. This created some alternative table arrangements that at times students may have felt were not quite part of the group or were singled out in a way, however, now they have their own overhead beautiful cloth lamps and get extra positive attention. \r\n\r\nThe rechargeable cordless lights are also a crowd favorite and enhance our floor work stations when those are in use. Students feel empowered to take what they need and have been exceptionally considerate of their table mates asking what they need as well. The cordless lights have three settings and the kids negotiate which setting feels best for the group. I have been impressed with how well the ambiance has shifted not just our light intact but the kindness output. Truly I feel this is due to the calmer nature of these lighting options and your generous donations. Furthermore, students have the option to take books home to enjoy and share with their families. \r\n\r\nWe are very grateful for these donations and will never forget the generosity you all have shown our class to help foster our love of reading. Thanks to your kindness, we've added flexible seating options, including cozy cushions, that have transformed our space. These small additions have made a big impact—students are naturally drawn to these inviting areas and are more inclined to settle in with a book. The new setup has even incentivized silent reading sessions, creating an atmosphere that encourages focus, imagination, and discovery.\r\n\r\nIt's been wonderful to see students not just enjoying their reading time but also forming a stronger connection to the library as a welcoming space.
