I did not expect to be funded so quickly and the materials have arrived, so I got to use them right away. The primary kids have lived using the new coins during small group instruction. Also, none of the kids have ever used geoboards and were so excited to make 2d shapes and learning their attributes. The 3rd grade loved using the 3d shapes to learn their attributes and compare them. Thank you again for giving kids the hands on learning experiences and making learning fun and relevant. The smiles as they were using the new materials means a lot.","fullyFundedDate":1744032961877,"projectUrl":"project/mastering-math-with-manipulatives/9201835/","projectTitle":"Mastering math with Manipulatives","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Kruger","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-6_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/3628231"},{"teacherId":3628231,"projectId":8796025,"letterContent":"We introduced the books on tape in our reading rotations this past week. They thought it was cool , putting in the tape and pressing play and actually hearing the story.. Many of our students are multi lingual, or reading well below grade level expectations. They need intensive support and different ways and opportunities to improve their reading skills.. Having the books on tape have given students opportunities to listen to both fiction and nonfiction books and follow along. The kids were excited to listen to a variety of books that they may not feel confident enough to read.\r\nIn the coming weeks and months we are going to continue to have them listen to the books with repeated times with the same books. Then we will take students aside and see if they can read some or all of the book on their own to an adult. We want to build confident life long readers and help remove barriers preventing them to do so.","fullyFundedDate":1732148424894,"projectUrl":"project/listening-to-a-great-book/8796025/","projectTitle":"Listening to a Great Book","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Kruger","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-6_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/3628231"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_58216","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":650,"numTeachers":29,"percentFrplEligible":71,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":46,"percentWhite":10,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":37,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"22.4:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":74.2,"schoolId":58216,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Indian Trail Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Indian Trail Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/kentucky/jefferson-county-public-schools/indian-trail-elementary-school/58216"}
