I can now work with students using decodable texts, hands-on phonics tools, and targeted activities that help them practice the exact skills they need to grow as readers.\r\n\r\nWhen I first introduced the materials, the excitement in the room was immediate. Students couldn't wait to explore the new books and tools. What once felt difficult for some of them now feels possible, and I see their confidence growing every day.\r\n\r\nThe impact has been incredible. Our second grade students now have the highest reading scores in the entire school. Watching students realize that they can decode words, read independently, and understand what they are reading is one of the most rewarding moments of teaching.\r\n\r\nBecause of you, my students are not only becoming stronger readers, they are discovering the joy and confidence that comes with believing in themselves. The materials have become part of our everyday classroom routines and activities. One of our favorite moments has been during Reading Buddies time. Because we now have enough books for everyone, my students are able to read together in there groups without anyone feeling left out. Students can also spread out around the room, sit comfortably, and truly enjoy their reading time. Creating a cozy, resource-filled environment has helped make learning feel both engaging and inviting. When my students first saw the materials, their excitement was immediate and genuine. They were eager to explore everything, and each student found something that sparked their interest. Seeing their faces light up reminded me how impactful it is to have the right tools available. The resources not only supported their academic growth but also boosted their confidence and enthusiasm for learning. As we move forward, we are currently working on writing our end-of-the-year maxim, reflecting on the lessons we've learned and the goals we've achieved. These new resources continue to support our discussions, writing activities, and collaborative projects as we focus on finishing the year strong. We are going to use the construction paper for Valentine's Day, Mother's Day, and Father's Day presents/ crafts. This is fantastic being that we are a Title 1 school with low income families.
