Our awesome special education team is in need of a few items that will assist their learning. If our project is fully funded we will purchase comfortable, student-sized plastic chairs. Many of our students struggle with focus, staying on task, and sitting still. The folding metal chairs we currently have in place are not conducive to this type of student. The metal folding chairs are loud, not sized appropriately for children, and have a cold and slippery seat surface. When our students wear skirts or shorts, they complain of the cold surface. The above mentioned reasons are distractions for our students who may already have a disability that affects their focus and attention. These materials will help us to support our special education students and give them a successful learning environment by fostering a comfortable area for them to sit and focus, free of the distractions of cold, noisy, metal folding chairs.
