These small tools give them a sense of ownership and flexibility—they can move around the room and work in pairs or independently wherever they feel comfortable. The clear storage bins have also helped students keep their materials neat, and they now know exactly where to find and return items. There's something empowering about a well-organized space, and they've taken pride in maintaining it.\r\n\r\nAre there particular students who have especially warmed to this new technology, and how so?\r\nOne of my students who often struggles with executive functioning has really benefited from the added structure the storage bins bring. Another student who prefers standing while working now uses a clipboard every day to complete his assignments comfortably at a standing table. Through your generosity, our school has been able to establish a school-wide PBIS store, which we call our Dragon Dollar Store. \r\n\r\nOur students have been working hard all year to collect Dragon Dollars, knowing that they could exchange them for these rewards. It was particularly memorable how their faces lit up with excitement when they first saw the new items. Especially with our younger students, many of them wanted to buy as much as they could! Hence, we did have to teach them how to save their dollars for the larger, more expensive rewards. However, good money management skills weren't the only things they learned. The students also learned the importance of consistently demonstrating positive behavior like being responsible, respectful, and safe. Overall, it has been a great experience seeing how motivated the students were in modeling positive behaviors. \r\n \r\nOur store has been running fairly well so far with no major issues in its set up. The only thing we were considering was how we could make the store more sustainable. Since there are many students who come in and buy items from the store, it often depletes our inventory fairly quickly. Hence, we were looking to include some items that are more service-based (ex: lunch with a staff, visit to the library, etc). These items would not only give the student a wider range of options to choose from, but it would also allow us to save on our material items. Additionally, changes in the types of items available wouldn't take away from that fact that the students could still earn incentives for positive behaviors. \r\n\r\nThese PBIS store items are not only reinforcing our behavior goals, but are also enriching the experiences of our students. Thank you for continuing to support our students in such a thoughtful and motivating way.","fullyFundedDate":1741709265524,"projectUrl":"project/flying-high-with-dragon-rewards-a-pbis/9153870/","projectTitle":"Flying High with Dragon Rewards: A PBIS Adventure","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Tsue","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9939701_orig.jpg?crop=747,747,x0,y67&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1741659338635","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9939701"},{"teacherId":7935756,"projectId":9152806,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous donation!
