Your contributions have brought comfort, joy, and a sense of belonging to our classroom in ways that words can only begin to describe. Each item you provided has made an impact, and I am so excited to share with you just how meaningful these resources have been for our students as we began the school year.\r\nOne of the most powerful changes we have witnessed so far has come from something as simple—and yet as profound—as the adaptive pencils. For many of our students, the act of writing can feel overwhelming and frustrating, often leading to tears and discouragement. With the adaptive pencils you provided, we have been able to shift those moments of frustration into opportunities for growth. Instead of tears, we are seeing smiles. Instead of avoidance, we are seeing attempts and perseverance. The comfort and accessibility these tools provide mean that students who once struggled to even pick up a pencil are now able to participate in their learning with confidence. This alone is a gift beyond measure.\r\nThe puzzles you sent have already been embraced with such enthusiasm that they have become a classroom favorite. They are more than just a fun activity—they provide opportunities for problem-solving, teamwork, and sensory regulation. The children treat them with such care, and when a piece goes missing, there is genuine concern until it is found. That sense of responsibility and shared joy is such a beautiful reminder of the community we are building, both within our classroom and with you as our extended supporters.\r\nAnother incredible gift has been the weighted blanket. For students who experience anxiety, restlessness, or difficulty regulating their emotions, the blanket has been a calming anchor. I have seen children who were on the verge of meltdowns return to a place of calm after just a few minutes with it. This tool has not only supported individual students but has also helped create a more peaceful and focused classroom environment for everyone.\r\nThe dry erase markers may seem small in comparison, but they have been an everyday joy for both students and teachers. They are used for lessons, interactive activities, and student practice, and their brightness and ease make learning feel fresh and exciting. Sometimes the smallest tools are the ones that keep the rhythm of the classroom moving forward smoothly, and we are so grateful to have them in abundance.\r\nYour support didn't stop there. The emotional support and reminder posters you sent have been hung in our classroom and hallways, serving as constant encouragement for students. These visuals provide reassurance and guidance throughout the day. Students look to them when they need reminders to breathe, to focus, or to be kind. It is remarkable to see how a simple poster can spark a change in attitude or calm a difficult moment.\r\nWe have not yet had the chance to make use of every single item you donated, but please know that nothing will go unused. Each resource has a place and a purpose, and we are confident that by the end of the school year, every item will have touched the lives of our students in some way. Your generosity is not only meeting immediate needs but is also laying the groundwork for growth and learning throughout the year.\r\nMost importantly, your kindness reminds us that we are not alone. Behind every donation is a person who cares deeply about children and their potential. That knowledge inspires our students and motivates our staff. You are helping us empower young minds, and the ripple effect of that empowerment will carry far beyond this year.\r\nFrom the bottom of our hearts, thank you for believing in our students and for giving them the tools they need to thrive. Your impact is felt daily in our classroom, and we are profoundly grateful.\r\nWith appreciation and hope,","fullyFundedDate":1750256123250,"projectUrl":"project/sensory-smiles-empowering-young-minds-t/9389934/","projectTitle":"Sensory Smiles: Empowering Young Minds Through Support","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Herzog","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-2_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10048003"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_124286","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":974,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":62,"percentAsian":2,"percentBlack":11,"percentWhite":22,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":56,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"TOWN","ncesMetroType":"TOWN_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":44.4,"schoolId":124286,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Igo Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Igo Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/texas/jarrell-independent-school-district/igo-elementary-school/124286"}
