With our new Magical and Mythical class novels, students are not just reading—they are diving into rich worlds filled with adventure, folklore, and powerful themes.\r\n\r\nThese books have allowed us to focus on important literacy skills such as identifying theme, analyzing characters, making predictions, and citing evidence from the text. Students are learning how myths and magical stories often reflect real-life lessons about courage, perseverance, and kindness. We've also been able to introduce discussions about different cultures and storytelling traditions, helping students build both comprehension and global awareness.\r\n\r\nReading time in our classroom is now one of the most anticipated parts of the day. Students eagerly gather with their books, engaged in partner discussions, small group activities, and independent reading. You can hear thoughtful conversations as they make connections and share ideas about the stories.\r\n\r\nSeveral students who were once hesitant readers are now among the most excited participants. One student, who previously struggled to stay engaged, now asks to take the book home to keep reading. Another loves sharing predictions and theories during discussions, building confidence and a stronger voice in the classroom.\r\n\r\nBecause of you, reading has become magical, meaningful, and something our students truly look forward to each day. I can't thank you enough for helping me encourage a love of reading with these books. The students LOVE reading the books and then comparing them to the movies. This project has profoundly impacted students by introducing new books that develop critical reading skills such as vocabulary expansion, comprehension, and critical thinking. The texts encourage students to engage deeply with the material through discussions about characters, plot, and predictions, fostering higher-order thinking and a love for reading. In the classroom, reading looks lively and interactive, with students eagerly discussing their opinions and insights, often measuring their own progress with each new book. Particularly, some students who might have struggled with motivation are now showing increased enthusiasm, participating actively in conversations and demonstrating growth in fluency and comprehension. These books not only boost literacy skills but also open windows to important real-world topics, making reading a meaningful and enjoyable experience for all.","fullyFundedDate":1524321737321,"projectUrl":"project/book-or-movie-which-one-is-better/3251201/","projectTitle":"Book?
