We have already begun using the items during small group sessions and individual check-ins. One meaningful moment was when a student who typically struggles to open up was able to engage during a session after being offered a small treat as a comfort and incentive. It created an opportunity for connection, conversation, and trust-building that might not have happened otherwise. These resources are helping me create a space where students feel safe, supported, and motivated to participate.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the materials, their faces lit up with excitement. Many of them immediately felt seen and cared for, and it helped set a positive tone for our work together. Even something as simple as having a choice of a snack or reward gave them a sense of control and encouragement, which is so important for students who may be struggling emotionally or behaviorally.\r\n\r\nBecause of your support, we are continuing to build on these moments by incorporating the items into ongoing goals around emotional regulation, positive behavior, and social skills development. Moving forward, students will use these incentives as part of goal-setting and reflection activities, helping them recognize their growth and stay motivated. Your support will allow our students to continue operating the coffee cart next year, which is an important and meaningful activity for them. Through this program, students practice real-life skills such as communication, organization, and responsibility while serving staff members in the building. During the coffee cart deliveries, students greet teachers and staff, take orders, and help prepare and distribute drinks. These moments provide valuable opportunities for students to build confidence and practice social and functional life skills in a real-world setting.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the new supplies, they were excited and proud to know that the coffee cart will be able to continue because of your generosity. Many of them enjoy being part of the process and take their roles very seriously. It is wonderful to see how motivated they are to participate, knowing that they are contributing something positive to our school community.\r\n\r\nAs we look ahead to next year, students will continue to build on these skills by taking on additional responsibilities with the coffee cart, such as organizing supplies, preparing orders, and interacting with more staff members. Your donation makes it possible for this program to continue and grow, giving students meaningful opportunities to develop independence and confidence. Unfortunately, snacks become pricey. Therefore, I along with the girls are extremely grateful for this donation. \r\n\r\n In addition, I provide a lesson each meeting. The lessons cover self-esteem, resiliency, positive coping mechanisms, working through depression and suicidal ideation. One of strategies is finding joy in doing something creative. These students will really benefit from these items. I try to make our lessons and classroom more exciting for our students and these donations will really help with that. From the photos you can see that I used the laminator to laminate words to help my special education and English as a Second Language students build their vocabulary. I used the coloring supplies for students to express themselves to create their own lab coat. This was used as a get to know you activity at the beginning of the year and they are now displayed in our room. We also used the coloring supplies for students to show understanding of the water cycle by creating a model. The takis are the kids favorite snack! So I filled it our \"Kindness Treasure Chest\" with them. How the Kindness Treasure Chest works is when students do random acts of kindness or show kindness towards their fellow classmates they get to grab a snack out of there. Having the clorox wipes and paper towels are a great addition to keep our classroom clean and sanitized for my students and our classroom. Finally, we will be using the microscope slides that you donated in our last unit of the school year which is biology. Students have NEVER used a microscope let alone looked a cells of anything. So when we get to this unit they will be so excited. I did show them at the beginning of the year the slides and told them what we were going to do and they were ecstatic! \r\nI really appreciate your donation and I cannot express the gratitude that I have for it. Thank you for your generosity and kindness. Each warm beverage and treat they prepare and deliver builds confidence and independence that will benefit them for years to come.\r\n\r\nOur students are eager and excited to begin serving staff again, and your investment makes it possible.
