The noise-canceling headphones have been particularly helpful for those who are easily overstimulated, allowing them to focus without distraction. \r\nHornet Haven is not just a space—it's a shift in our school culture. Together we were able to work together to give my students items to help meet their academic, sensory and emotional needs. Supplies. We have really been enjoying these items and are awed by your support. \r\n\r\nThe Surfboard lap desk is a huge hit. It allows so much more flexibility in our classroom. They can be taken outside for an instant desk wherever you are. They allow any chair to become a desk also. A large number of my kids prefer to sit on the floor and these lap desks allow them to complete their work easily and comfortably. \r\n\r\nThe lamp allows soft lighting to give their eyes a break from the harsh light of the classroom. The calming tools allow for sensory needs to be met (glitter wands, weighted animals). My students designed their own sensory bottles and helped make them. They were taught how to use them and encouraged to utilize them when upset , bored, frustrated, and mad to both calm down and when they need to refocus. \r\n Thank you for taking the time to read the grant and for deciding to help this teacher help her students.
