Teaching 7th, 9th, 10th, and 11th graders means managing a huge variety of energy levels, learning styles, and personalities throughout the day. Your generosity brought tools into our room that have truly transformed how my students experience learning.\r\n\r\nWhen I originally set up these different seating options, students were immediately interested and wanted to try them all out! Over time, each student has developed a liking for a specific seating option, and it has made a world of difference for attention and regulation in our classroom. High schoolers don't always show their excitement right away, but seeing how much they value having choices in their environment has been wonderful.\r\n\r\nThese new options made an immediate difference during our group work. I've seen firsthand how much this seating supports our students with occupational therapy needs, especially when it comes to sensory regulation. Sitting at rigid desks for hours can be tough on middle and high schoolers, but these choices give them a healthy way to channel their energy\r\n\r\nIn addition to the seating, the treats have served a deeply meaningful purpose in our day-to-day routine. The Jolly Ranchers are used as motivation and rewards for student token economy boards and during interactive activities like math fact fluency games. Meanwhile, the Cheez-Its provide an important boost for our students from low-income families, ensuring they have a wholesome snack to rely on before heading home for the night.\r\n\r\nThank you for opening your hearts to my students.
