When the boxes arrived, my students could hardly contain their excitement — it felt like Christmas morning. The STEM bridge-building kit was an instant favorite; my students dove right into designing and testing their creations, proudly showing it off to their parents. It has been incredible to see their teamwork, problem-solving, and creativity come alive through hands-on learning.\r\n\r\nThe new pillows and saucer chair have transformed our reading corner into a cozy, inviting space where students actually ask to read. Our classroom feels more like a home, and that comfort has made such a difference in how focused and engaged they are during reading time. The whiteboard markers and skin-tone crayons have also been game changers — from vibrant math lessons on the board to art projects where every child can finally find a color that represents them.\r\n\r\nYour generosity has brought so much joy, comfort, and curiosity into our classroom. They were excited to be able to pick their favorite colors for the paddles. \r\nDuring class we used the equipment in station activities where students practiced their striking skills. One game we played is striker ball where students stand between cones in an octagon shape. They practice striking the ball with their paddle, trying to get the ball past another students cones. My \"Grab and Go\" bins have made our 4th grade classroom run more smoothly than I imagined. Before \"Grab and Go\", I had students sharing buckets that were not ideal but all I had as I began my experience with being a 4th grade teacher. You see, I had been a 6th grade Middle School teacher before and was not use to rounding up so many supplies and keeping them organized for my students. I soon found that with being an elementary classroom teacher, those \"shared\" buckets did not serve our needs well at all. By the end of the day, books and papers had fallen out and would be all over the room, causing more work than my students and I wanted each day. \r\n My fellow teachers told me to get with Donors Choose and fix the problem or else just live with the chaotic environment I was facing each day. So, I did and I knew exactly what I needed. Individual totes that could hold materials and supplies for each separate student and name tags to label them. No more sharing and no more messes. All I have to do is tell the students to, \"get your totes and bring them to your table.\" They literally \"Grab them and Go.\" \r\n Each morning is an easy transition for supplies so that our day of learning can be effortless. But the best part is at the end of each day. Cleaning up at dismissal time is not a headache anymore, especially for those Young Sheldon's who can be easily triggered by chaos. Each tote fits neatly on a shelf in the room with their name tag facing out for easy identification. The students do all the work and I just supervise with a smile on my face. Cleaning up takes half the time and everyone is in a better mood for it. Students are happier with their own tote. I am happier about them taking responsibility for their own materials and not having to share anyone else's mess. We all go home loving the school experience. The totes are holding up very well so I will be able to use them for years to come. I boast about the totes often and am very thankful that DonorsChoose was there for me.","fullyFundedDate":1731504107451,"projectUrl":"project/my-grab-and-go-bin/8736705/","projectTitle":"\"My Grab and Go Bin\"","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Rickels","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-4_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9728207"},{"teacherId":9209646,"projectId":8647773,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your donation of the balance blocks and spin boards.
