There was something so special about the kids getting to open boxes of books that had never been used before. You could see the excitement on their faces immediately, and that energy stayed with them through the entire unit. We are so grateful to our donors for their generosity in providing these resources for our students.\r\n\r\nI was so impressed by how locked in they were. It was not just a reading assignment to them because they were genuinely hooked on the mystery of the story. Since they were so engaged, I saw them using thinking and reading skills that truly blew me away. They were making connections and diving into the plot with a level of focus that made me so proud. It is amazing what a fresh set of books can do for a class.
