Our students enjoy working on the rug as a whole group (and sometimes small group) rather than always working at their desk. It gives them the flexibility to move around the classroom. This also gives them some independent skills to be responsible for their own materials as well.\r\n\r\nThese lap desks have been super successful during their group time, and their whole group lesson times. Our students have enjoyed having more visual supports in their classroom. We have been using the communication buttons for interactive word walls every time we learn a new story. Every student gets an opportunity to come up to the word wall and hit the button. This has been a great addition to the classroom for our non verbal students as well. We have been able to make laminated books to support over 100 students. Instead of reading from a board in front of them, all students can have access to stories right in front of them, and be able to physically turn the pages.\r\n\r\nStudents progress has been very positive so far. Also, because they are laminated, they are much more sturdy, and students are able to use them over and over.
