Your support through Donors Choose has transformed our classroom into a more vibrant, and engaging hands-on learning environment.\r\n\r\nThe impact of your donation was felt immediately as we dove into our social studies units. With our new globes and flag flash cards, the students have a better understanding of where we are in the world. They've spent hours spinning the globes to find distant countries and comparing the flags of the U.S. and the world, sparking wonderful conversations about different cultures and our place in the global community.\r\n\r\nIn math, the wipe-away sheet protectors have been a total game-changer. We've been using them to master the tricky world of fractions and decimals. The students no longer fear making mistakes because they can just wipe and try again! \r\n\r\nThe Fraction War card game has become a competitive favorite that makes comparing values exciting. We use our new chess board and board games as rewards for their hard work after a test, which has significantly boosted classroom morale and helped develop critical thinking skills.\r\n\r\nOne of the most significant changes in our daily routine has come from the sensory tools you provided. Every student learns differently, and these items have been essential for focus. The Wiggle Seats have been so helpful for my students who need movement to stay engaged during lessons. The Weighted Stuffed sloth helps provide a sense of calm and security for students feeling overwhelmed.\r\n\r\nHaving sensory toys and fidgets on hand allows students to satisfy sensory needs quietly, which helps them stay \"tuned in\" to class discussions rather than becoming distracted.\r\n\r\nBeyond the big projects, the extra school supplies ensure that every student starts their day on equal footing. Having the basic tools they need—pencils, paper, and organizers—removes barriers to learning and allows us to focus entirely on our lessons.\r\n\r\nThank you for believing in my students and for providing the resources that make our fourth-grade journey so special. It's been a total game-changer during small-group reading and math. Instead of constantly shifting around, they're actually locked in on the task at hand. It's amazing how much more they can focus when they're physically comfortable.\r\nThe clipboards have been a huge hit, too. They can grab their work and head over to the rug or find a cozy spot in the room. Having that sturdy surface means they can write anywhere without getting frustrated. Because of your generosity, my classroom now has access to technology that truly transforms how students learn. While many people use technology at home for entertainment or communication, in our classroom it becomes a powerful learning tool. Students are using it to build problem-solving skills, practice critical thinking, and engage in hands-on, interactive lessons that meet them at their individual levels. 2nd and 3rd grade got to learn code and program digital character dancers. We also had 1st - 5th grade learn digital citizenship behaviors that help them learn how to better manage the online world. The technology allows me to differentiate instruction in real time, provide immediate feedback, and create a more engaging learning environment where every child can participate and succeed.\r\n\r\nWhat has been most exciting to see is the confidence this new technology has sparked. Students who were hesitant learners are now eager to try, explore, and take risks. The interactive nature of the tools makes learning feel like discovery rather than work. I have watched students light up when they master a new skill, collaborate with classmates, or realize they can solve a challenge on their own. It has increased engagement across the board, especially for students who benefit from visual and hands-on learning experiences. I am able to keep all my computers plugged in and organized.\r\n\r\nThere are a few students in particular who have truly blossomed. One student who often struggled to stay focused is now one of the first to log in and begin working independently. Another student who lacks confidence in traditional academic settings has found success and pride through this technology-based learning. These moments are powerful reminders that access matters. These materials have transformed our lessons in ways I couldn't have imagined, and I'm so grateful that you chose to invest in their curiosity.\r\n\r\nFrom the moment the students walked into the lab and saw the magnetic tiles and colorful wands, their excitement was electric. Many had never used magnetic STEM tools before, and watching them discover magnetic \"push and pull\" for the very first time was pure magic. During one of our opening activities, students in both kindergarten and first grade touched their magnetic wands together and squealed when they felt them snap together—or suddenly repel and push away. Those tiny moments of discovery, where they look up at me with wide eyes and say, \"Why did it do that?\", are truly the heart of why this project mattered so much.\r\n\r\nThe magnetic bingo materials immediately became one of our favorite hands-on ways to reinforce science vocabulary and tool recognition. Instead of just hearing words like \"thermometer,\" \"magnifying glass,\" or \"engineer,\" students were able to interact with them. They used their magnetic wands to pick up chips, find matching STEM tools, and cover their boards. Even my most hesitant learners suddenly leaned in, excited to use the wand to pick up each chip. It was incredible to watch how such a simple magnetic pull increased engagement, confidence, and participation across the entire room.\r\n\r\nOne of my favorite moments happened during our clean-up challenge. Students used their wands to lift all their magnetic chips at once, cheering when the whole pile magically clung to the wand. A few students even began predicting which chips would pick up more strongly, turning clean-up into a spontaneous mini-lesson on forces and motion. Moments like these—where science becomes intuitive and joyful—are only possible because of the tools you helped provide.\r\n\r\nThe magnetic tiles have been equally powerful. My kindergarten students have already begun building bridges, towers, and \"cities,\" explaining to each other why certain shapes work better than others. Several of my first graders naturally shifted into engineering mode, testing how tall they could build before a structure collapsed and then rebuilding with better support. These materials invite exploration, problem-solving, teamwork, and creativity in a way that is developmentally perfect for their age.\r\n\r\nYour generosity didn't just fund materials; it created opportunities. You gave my students access to real scientific tools and hands-on learning experiences that strengthen fine motor skills, introduce engineering concepts, and build early confidence in STEM—all in a space that serves 484 students every two weeks. The impact is schoolwide, ongoing, and honestly priceless.\r\n\r\nThank you again for believing in my students and in the power of playful, meaningful STEM learning.
