Thanks to your gift, our students now have access to a wide variety of engaging, hands-on activities that offer a much-needed break from screen time. As they roll dice, strategist moves, and work through game challenges, they are sharpening critical thinking, problem-solving, and spatial reasoning skills in real time. Beyond the academic benefits, these board games have transformed our downtime into a vibrant space for social-emotional growth—teaching students patience, teamwork, sportsmanship, and the joy of authentic human connection. Thanks to your contribution, we were able to add a new study bookshelf, cozy bench seating, and an interactive spinning bookshelf to our reading corner.\r\n\r\nBefore this upgrade, our books were overflowing, making it difficult for students to find titles that matched their reading levels and interests. The new organization has completely changed how our students interact with our classroom library:\r\n\r\nThe Spinning Bookshelf has become an instant favorite. Its dynamic design allows students to easily browse through featured series and new additions, sparking immediate curiosity and excitement about reading.\r\n\r\nThe Main Bookshelf gives every genre, topic, and reading level a dedicated, clearly labeled space. Our library is now neat, accessible, and easy for the kids to maintain independently.\r\n\r\nThe Bench Seating has turned our reading area into a warm, inviting sanctuary. Students love curling up on the bench during independent reading time, which has noticeably increased the amount of time they spend immersed in books each day.\r\n\r\nYour gift did more than just purchase furniture, it created an inspiring environment that fosters a genuine love for reading. Seeing the students' eyes light up as they explore the new setup and settle into their cozy new reading spot has been truly heartening.\r\n\r\nThank you for investing in our classroom, supporting literacy, and making a direct, daily impact on our students' learning journey.","fullyFundedDate":1778779567221,"projectUrl":"project/literacy-and-logistics-upgrade/10114257/","projectTitle":"Literacy and Logistics Upgrade","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Kaupu","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9485509_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1726015934528","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9485509"},{"teacherId":7935611,"projectId":10261865,"letterContent":"My students are so grateful for the snacks your donation has provided them. We use the food reward chart to recognize students for making responsible choices, completing assignments, using appropriate communication, showing kindness, and working toward their individual academic and behavior goals.\r\n\r\nThe chart gives students a clear, visual way to see their progress. Many of my students benefit from immediate feedback, so they can easily understand how their positive choices help them reach a goal. The rewards also encourage students to practice important skills such as patience, self-monitoring, decision-making, and perseverance.\r\n\r\nOne student who often struggled to begin independent work was able to set a small goal using the chart: take out the needed materials and complete the first problem. After earning progress for beginning the task, the student continued working and completed several problems. The student was proud to see the progress on the chart and realized that a difficult assignment could be completed one step at a time.\r\n\r\nWhen students first saw the new materials, they were excited and curious. They wanted to learn how the chart worked and which snacks they could choose. Their excitement gave us an opportunity to discuss classroom expectations, positive behavior, and the importance of working toward a goal. Students enjoyed seeing their individual progress and celebrating their accomplishments.\r\n\r\nThe chart is about more than earning a snack. It helps students understand that their effort and choices matter. We use the reward system to discuss questions such as, \"What positive choice helped you earn progress?\" and \"What can you try next time?\" These conversations help students focus on growth and learn from challenges.\r\n\r\nOur next steps are to continue connecting the chart to students' academic, social, emotional, and behavioral goals. Students will practice reading, writing, math, communication, and self-regulation skills while working toward positive rewards. We will also encourage students to take more responsibility by helping track their progress, choosing daily goals, and reflecting on their accomplishments.\r\n\r\nI am very grateful to the donors who supported this project. Your generosity provided more than snacks and materials. It gave my students motivation, encouragement, and opportunities to experience success. Because of your support, they are learning that positive choices are noticed, effort is valuable, and every step forward is worth celebrating.","fullyFundedDate":1787233264819,"projectUrl":"project/punch-for-progress-small-rewards-big-w/10417828/","projectTitle":"Punch for Progress: Small Rewards, Big Wins","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Roberg","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp1219246_orig.jpg?crop=648,648,x45,y79&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1720890403008","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/1219246"},{"teacherId":9485509,"projectId":10417173,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your incredible generosity in providing daily snacks for our 2nd-grade classroom. In our room, learning takes a tremendous amount of energy, and having access to nutritious snacks throughout the day makes a profound difference in my students' ability to thrive. Before your support, hunger was a quiet but constant barrier to learning in our classroom, often leading to fatigue, anxiety, and difficulty focusing during critical afternoon lessons.\r\nYour gift transformed our daily routine and directly unlocked our students' potential. Having a reliable, healthy snack available removes the burden of hunger so my students can focus entirely on reading, math, and social growth. The physical benefits were immediate: energy levels remained steady, afternoon meltdowns decreased, and student concentration dramatically improved. Beyond the nutritional value, having a shared snack time created a wonderful community-building routine where students gather, practice kindness, and recharge together. Knowing that they can count on having food whenever they are hungry gives my seven- and eight-year-olds a deep sense of security and care.\r\nWhen our snack supply arrived, the relief and excitement among the children was tangible. One student quietly came up to me and whispered, \"I don't have to worry if I forget my snack now, because our classroom has enough for everyone.\" That moment highlighted just how much peace of mind your contribution brought to our kids. Knowing that a caring donor thought of them made my students feel valued, safe, and supported by a larger community that believes in their success.
