My dad is going to love this! My mom is going to hug me so hard! These were common refrains as we worked on gifts for Mother's and Father's day. My students loved learning about diamond art and how it could improve hand and eye coordination. They were able to build teamwork skills especially communication and they wound up with a gift they were proud of. Even better, many of them wound up teaching others so the community grew bigger as we worked. Their pride in themselves really flourished as the work was completed. Certain kids have favorite ones, Mr Bear is always at one desk, but overall they use them for a while, share their troubles and end with a smile. These have been a truly wonderful gift for our class.
