Here are some key ways it influences students and the classroom environment:\r\n\r\nHands-on Learning: A garden provides experiential learning opportunities that reinforce science, math, environmental studies, and nutrition. Students learn about plant life cycles, ecosystems, weather patterns, and sustainability in a tangible, engaging way.\r\n\r\nSocial and Emotional Growth: Working in a garden fosters collaboration, patience, responsibility, and empathy. It encourages teamwork, communication, and a sense of ownership as students share tasks and witness the results of their efforts.\r\n\r\nHealth and Wellness: Exposure to gardening can improve students' understanding of healthy eating habits. They are more likely to try fruits and vegetables they've grown themselves, which supports better nutrition and overall health.\r\n\r\nCommunity and Cultural Connections: A classroom garden can connect students to their local community and diverse cultures through shared gardening practices, storytelling, and recipe exchanges. It becomes a hub for intergenerational learning and inclusion.\r\n\r\nBehavior and Focus: Studies show that time spent in green spaces can reduce stress and improve focus and behavior in students. This leads to a more positive and productive classroom environment.","fullyFundedDate":1673652222055,"projectUrl":"project/a-classroom-garden-to-help-my-students-g/7104004/","projectTitle":"A Classroom Garden To Help My Students Grow.","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Struthers","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp5934092_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1538930986321","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mrs-struthers"},{"teacherId":2892114,"projectId":8944175,"letterContent":"Thank you for making our days so much better!
