Because of you, my second graders now have access to high-quality STEAM building materials like LEGO sets, Magna-Tiles, and other hands-on construction tools that have completely transformed how we learn and create in our classroom.\r\n\r\nWe use these materials every week during our STEM Fridays, as well as during holidays, special classroom celebrations, and even inside recess. From the very first day the materials arrived, my students' eyes lit up with excitement. They couldn't wait to explore, build, and problem-solve together. These tools have quickly become a favorite part of our week, encouraging creativity, teamwork, and perseverance as students test ideas, make changes, and try again.\r\n\r\nOne especially memorable experience was our Thanksgiving \"turkey trap\" challenge. Using the STEAM materials you provided, students worked in small groups to design and build traps that could safely catch a turkey. They planned their designs, discussed what might or might not work, and proudly explained their thinking to classmates. Watching them collaborate, revise their structures, and celebrate each other's ideas was a powerful reminder of how meaningful hands-on learning can be, especially for young learners.\r\n\r\nThese materials have given my students opportunities to think like engineers, take risks, and build confidence in their abilities. Students who sometimes struggle in traditional academic settings truly shine during STEAM time, finding their voices and strengths through building and problem-solving. Because of you, learning feels joyful, engaging, and accessible for every child.\r\n\r\nAs we continue through the school year, my students are excited to take on new design challenges and build even more complex creations. Your generosity has made a lasting impact on our classroom, and these materials will continue to support learning for many years to come.\r\n\r\nThank you for believing in my students and helping us grow as thinkers, creators, and problem-solvers.
