Your support has helped create a classroom environment where motivation, goal-setting, and academic growth are not only encouraged but visibly thriving. The incentives you provided have become meaningful tools that empower students to take ownership of their learning and celebrate their progress along the way.\r\n\r\nAt the beginning of the school year, my students completed their i-Ready Reading and Math diagnostic assessments. Following these assessments, each student set personalized goals for where they wanted to be by the mid-year diagnostic in January. These goals included the specific number of lessons they wanted to complete and pass in both reading and math, as well as the level of accuracy they wanted to maintain. In addition to their long-term goals, students created weekly goals for how many lessons they aimed to pass—striving for an 80% or higher on each lesson. These layered goals have helped them see a clear pathway: small, consistent steps that lead to larger academic milestones.\r\n\r\nThanks to the incentives funded through DonorsChoose, students now have a tangible and motivating way to track and celebrate their success. For each lesson they pass, they earn two points. These points can be \"spent\" on the incentives you helped provide, turning hard work into exciting rewards. Some students choose to bring their items home as reminders of their accomplishments, while others keep them displayed proudly on their desks as daily motivation. No matter how they choose to enjoy them, the incentives have quickly become powerful visual symbols of effort, perseverance, and achievement.\r\nThe impact has been remarkable. Several students have already surpassed the mid-year goals they originally set back in September. These students were so proud—and in some cases surprised—by their progress that they chose to revise their goals upward, challenging themselves to complete even more lessons before January. Watching students independently adjust their targets to higher expectations has been one of the most meaningful outcomes of this project. It reflects not only increased confidence but a genuine investment in their learning journey.\r\n\r\nThe incentives have also helped students understand the direct connection between daily practice and long-term success. Every completed lesson brings them a step closer to their mid-year standard goal, and the rewards they earn serve as positive reinforcement every step of the way. Students are taking responsibility for their pacing, monitoring their accuracy, and making conscious efforts to stay focused during i-Ready time. The pride they feel when they see their earned items grow is matched only by the pride they feel when their lesson counts rise.\r\n\r\nAs their teacher, I am incredibly excited to see their growth on the upcoming January i-Ready diagnostics and then again in June for the end-of-year assessment. With the steady progress they are making—supported by your generosity—I am confident that many will meet, and even exceed, the goals they have worked so hard toward.\r\nThank you for believing in my students and supporting their success. Your donation has created not only a more engaging classroom, but a more empowered group of learners who see the value in setting goals, working hard, and celebrating their achievements. Your impact is felt every single day.","fullyFundedDate":1757543646908,"projectUrl":"project/reaching-our-goals/9621960/","projectTitle":"Reaching Our Goals!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Monica","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-7_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10096073"},{"teacherId":621694,"projectId":9591103,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for donating to my project.
