My students are awesome and eager learners. However, like all seven and eight year old kids, they need the ability to get their wiggles out in a constructive way. Flexible seating will allow my second graders to take turns moving their bodies as they work. This will allow them to stay alert and focused during those drowsy moments in the day when their brain wants a rest and their body needs to move. Second graders have the ability to learn and grow a tremendous amount during the school year, if they can stay focused. The flexible seating option will help this effort.
