Giving them the opportunity to keep their supplies close at hand has made a huge difference, especially during transitions—students are more focused, independent, and ready to learn without losing instructional time.\r\nThe materials have been used daily across lessons, and the games have been an absolute hit during every Fun Friday. Students especially love Break the Ice, which has become a favorite for building math skills, teamwork, and confidence all at once. I've seen students who were once hesitant become excited problem-solvers, eager to explain their thinking and cheer one another on. These moments have strengthened our classroom community and made learning feel joyful and accessible for everyone.\r\nAs we prepare for our upcoming state test, I feel incredibly confident knowing that every single kiddo now has the supplies they need to be successful. For session 2, the older kids then came and taught our younger kids how to play the games they'd learned in session one. The students are using the new art supplies to make very fun projects in the art room.\r\nThe students used chalk pastels as part of their Lunar New Year art including a custom lantern mixed media painting and paint markers. Having access to these high quality art supplies really makes a difference in the outcome of their projects including brightness of colors and integrity of the paper.\r\nThe students learned about the Great Race and the significance of the lanterns in celebrating Lunar New Year. They had a great time designing their lanterns and painting the sunset with cool colors.\r\nWe use the paint markers in an on going manner as they are a special art supply they can earn and use for special projects including painting on our classroom furniture. Using the paint markers is very special to the students they are so excited when they get to use them and are very careful when they put them away so they continue to have them as an art supply. These projects engage both imagination-driven learners and budding scientists, allowing them to explore stories in deeper, hands-on ways.\r\n\r\nThe kits have also opened a new opportunity: we're connecting with local engineers who we hope to invite into the classroom to present and guide us in using our STEM resources.
