As a PE teacher, I want every student to have the opportunity to move, play, challenge themselves, and feel successful, but having limited equipment made that difficult at times. Your support is helping change that.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the new equipment, they were excited to try everything! We have already started using the resources for fitness stations, obstacle courses, and activities that challenge students in different areas of fitness such as strength, endurance, balance, and agility. One of my favorite moments is watching students encourage each other and cheer their classmates on as they try something new. For some students, PE is the place where they discover that they are stronger, faster, or more capable than they thought they were.\r\n\r\nYour donation is more than just equipment—it gives my students more opportunities to be active, build confidence, work together, and develop healthy habits that can last a lifetime. Within the first days, students cozied up to our new cozy corner, reading novels and graphic novels in Spanish and English. We've been able to take dedicated time to read independently with these new materials. Students not only loved the pillows, beanbags, and cozy items, but also loved the various novels. These series are students favorites. I have seen students choose larger novels in their second language, rather than their home or preferred language. They are stepping outside of their comfort zone and reading longer and larger texts. When I end independent reading time, they are sad to return to regular classwork! Literacy is crucial during middle school, especially for these emergent multilingual leaners! We could not do this without our donors.
