This generous contribution has already made a significant difference in my daily work as the math interventionist. With this new technology, I am able to stay organized and efficient when analyzing student data, planning targeted interventions, and designing instructional materials that meet the needs of every learner. It has truly streamlined the way I manage the many moving parts of our intervention program and strengthened the support I can provide to students and staff alike.\r\n\r\nBeyond my intervention work, this resource has been transformative in my leadership roles throughout the school. From creating professional development presentations and leading team meetings, to organizing collaborative planning documents and maintaining a shared digital drive for our math team, the MacBook Air has enhanced my ability to communicate, plan, and lead effectively. It has allowed me to create high-quality materials that support instructional growth and foster collaboration among educators.\r\n\r\nI am deeply grateful to the donors who made this possible. The rug has become a central spot for group discussions, reading time, and even some movement breaks. It's comfy, which makes it perfect for fostering a more inclusive and relaxed environment where students feel comfortable and engaged. We recently used the rug for a storytelling project where students took turns sitting in a circle to share a story they had created with a classmate. It allowed for a collaborative atmosphere and gave students a chance to practice communication skills in a fun way.\r\n\r\nThe fidget toys have been particularly helpful for students who need to release extra energy or focus during lessons. These tools are great for keeping students engaged during longer periods of instruction, especially for those who benefit from having something to do with their hands while they listen or work independently.\r\n\r\nThe excitement in the room when the materials arrived was contagious! The students were thrilled to see the rug and immediately claimed their favorite spots on it for our group activities. The fidget toys became an instant hit—students eagerly chose their favorite ones to use during class time. Many of them expressed how much they appreciated having something to help them focus. There was even a sense of pride when we started laminating their projects; they were amazed at how professional and neat their work looked after going through the laminator.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, the students are currently working on a collaborative art project that involves creating a visual representation of their favorite stories. They are using the laminated sheets to help plan and design their illustrations, which will eventually be used in a classroom display. The next step is for each student to contribute one part of the story—whether it's a drawing, poem, or a description of a scene—and we'll combine everything into a big mural that will hang proudly in the classroom. This project will not only enhance their creativity but also give them an opportunity to work as a team.\r\n\r\nAdditionally, we're incorporating the fidget toys into our math lessons by allowing students to use them during independent work time to stay focused and calm. This is helping some of the students who struggle with focus to have the support they need while tackling challenging tasks.","fullyFundedDate":1733248133232,"projectUrl":"project/our-zone-of-regulations/8642954/","projectTitle":"Our Zone of Regulations","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Crenshaw","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9652740_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1728535640331","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9652740"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_5845","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":417,"numTeachers":35,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":93,"percentWhite":2,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":3,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"11.9:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":58.1,"schoolId":5845,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Herzl Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Herzl Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/illinois/chicago-public-school-district-299/herzl-elementary-school/5845"}
