Math class this first year of school should be full of hands on experiences with numbers. Students have such a great time rolling dice and finding the colorful image that corresponds with the number of dots on the foam dice, that they do not realize they are also practicing number recognition and mathmatical concepts such as subitizing. It truly makes a difference with the youngest learners to present learning materials in a fun, colorful way so they are curious about them and cannot wait to \"play\" the math game.\r\n\r\nI sincerely apprecaite your help in keeping my classroom up to date with technology that enriches the learning experience for all learners. My students had the best time discovering the number system and how to manipulate it! They were abolutely delighted to use the hands on math manipulatives that were purchased with the funds from this grant.\r\n\r\nNot only did my students enjoy math, but they also demonstrated high levels of learning on end of the year state testing. This is the best case scenario. Students were highly engaged in authentic counting tasks to create meaningful learning about numbers and how to manipulate them and were able to translate those experiences to demonstrating that learning on the end of the year assessment. \r\n\r\nIt is with the utmost gratitude to you and your partnership and dedication to young learners.
