We look forward to putting our new games to use! My students this year have really enjoyed learning with their new tools. \r\nWe have used the magnet pictures in a variety of ways. We have focused on word segmenting and word blending. The students have been practicing their sentence writing by choosing 2 pictures to combine into a sentence to show their use of capitalization, spacing, and punctuation within the sentence. They have also had fun sorting pictures into words with beginning blends and ending blends as we shift our phonics focus each week. \r\nMy students are enjoying playing the SPLAT game while working on identifying beginning and ending sounds in words. They repeatedly ask to play this game with our student volunteers from the high school! It is so engaging and fun! The game is quick so they like to play multiple rounds together.\r\nThe new laminator with laminating sheets has allowed me to protect our paper tools that we use regularly for learning. These include game pieces and cards to help make phonics work enjoyable and meaningful. \r\nThese will also make a huge impact on my future students as well.
