The organizing piece for my desk has made a huge difference in keeping worksheets and materials easily accessible, allowing lessons to flow without interruption. The cart has made it simple to move materials back and forth during reading groups while keeping the classroom neat and organized. My students absolutely loved using the reading cards in small groups, especially because they were able to work at different levels and feel successful. They are also always eager to come to intervention time to use the long division whiteboards, and the hands-on fraction activities helped them better visualize and understand challenging math concepts. Even small additions like the multiplication name tags have supported daily learning while helping students feel a sense of pride in their space.\r\n\r\nThe construction paper you provided has allowed students to express their creativity in so many ways. They created hybrid animal posters as part of a writing project, combining two animals and sharing their ideas with the class, and they also used it during our geometry unit to build and explore angles in a hands-on way. The test prep books in math and reading were also incredibly helpful, giving both my students and me structured, standards-based resources that made preparing for testing much more manageable and effective.\r\n\r\nAs we move forward, students will continue building on these skills by applying their reading strategies to more complex texts and strengthening their math understanding through hands-on and small group activities. One popular text was Mi Papi Has a Motorcycle. Many of my kiddos are of Mexican descent, so the Spanish references and family story felt familiar and special to them. We even made maps of our own neighborhoods to go along with the book, which helped students make personal connections to the story. Additionally, we worked on using context clues to find the meaning of unknown words! The books you sent also helped them see cultures and communities from around the world—something they don't often get to experience within Tucson. We used The Magical Yet during lessons on confidence and growth mindset, and students made \"I can't do this yet\" posters that really encouraged them to see challenges differently. They loved that book so much they asked to read it more than once.\r\n\r\nThe Bad Guys series was also a huge hit. Students who rarely finish chapter books began picking up the books and reading them during independent time/morning work. My 4th graders also used the paper and pencils you provided to complete character projects, sketch to stretch activities, and short written responses based on the book, which helped them enjoy reading even more. Additionally, the Common Core math worksheet book is helping my class prepare for their upcoming state test! I truly appreciate that math tool because it challenges my students and also helps me streamline my prep time! Lastly, the organizers you donated made small-group work incredibly stress-free and helped everything run smoothly during our intervention block.\r\n\r\n English language learners especially appreciated the ELL whiteboard set. One student who began the year with very limited English has made tremendous progress while preparing for the AZELLA. That student told me that using the pictures and movable word cards made it easier to understand new vocabulary and make sentences. That student has slowly started to write more independently! The reading strips you sent were also incredibly helpful. Students use them daily for class reading, tests, and individual reading time. \r\n\r\nAgain, I cannot thank you all enough!! I am seeing students who were two to three years behind begin to take risks, ask questions, and proudly show their thinking. Their growth is not only academic but also emotional. They feel supported, capable, and excited to learn in a way that simply wasn't possible before.\r\n\r\nI've seen a noticeable boost in their confidence—students who once avoided participating are now eager to show their thinking and take academic risks. Small-group intervention has become far more effective because students can manipulate materials, receive immediate feedback, and build understanding through meaningful, interactive practice. Even incorporating games like Uno has strengthened their number sense, collaboration, and problem-solving skills while keeping math fun.
