We have centered our meeting area around a beautiful rug of sunshine rays that I was able to purchase through your donation. The students were extremely excited about the rug and spent the first few days dropping down and rolling on it to feel its softness. After the initial few days you can imagine that it was time to set some rules and expectations for our beautiful rug. I was able to convince them that it was not going anywhere, and we would need to be able to sit on the rug without rolling around on it every time. They are only first grade children, so their reaction to it was one of true and honest feelings. After getting them used to sitting on or around the rug, I introduced our new writing workshop. It did not start out perfect. It took weeks to regulate all students to our precious workshop routine. However, persistence and consistent expectations it slowly came together exactly as I visualized in my head. \r\n We are now months in and I can't thank you enough for this opportunity to implement my vision. The students are writing and actually enjoying writing. They are using their words to help communicate their creativity, their feelings. and their fresh perspectives. In addition, they are exploring multiple genres of writing, and they are learning with genuine excitement. They look forward to our writing workshop and love sharing their writing with each other. Your donation has brought a new wave of energy, organization, and creativity into our classroom.\r\n\r\nThe Big Reveal\r\nWhen the boxes arrived and we unpacked the brand-new storage units, caddy bins, and art supplies, my students were absolutely thrilled. Their eyes lit up at the sight of the fresh, vibrant markers and the giant new supply of pencils. Several students were amazed that people they had never even met wanted to help them succeed. Seeing the new storage units, one student remarked, \"Wow, our classroom looks so organized now!\" They felt incredibly valued and excited to get to work.\r\n\r\nPutting the Supplies to Work\r\nThese materials have completely transformed how our room functions. The new storage units and caddy bins have given everything a designated, easy-to-reach home. During a recent collaborative group project, the impact was obvious. Instead of students wandering the room looking for writing utensils or digging through their backpacks, each group had a fully stocked caddy right in the middle of their table. They immediately got to work using the new pencils and markers to brainstorm and create their ideas. Furthermore, the cleaning supplies have been an absolute lifesaver; the students are actively taking pride in wiping down their tables at the end of the day, keeping our beautiful new learning space safe, healthy, and tidy.\r\n\r\nWhat's Next for Us\r\nNow that our classroom is perfectly organized and fully equipped, we are diving straight into our upcoming math project. The students will be using these markers and pencils daily to draft, revise, and illustrate their final presentations. Because they no longer have to worry about where to find a pencil or how to keep their workspace clean, they are channeling 100% of their energy into their learning.\r\n\r\nThank you again for believing in my students and giving them the tools they need to thrive!","fullyFundedDate":1768569090165,"projectUrl":"project/learning-through-comfortable-spaces/10018761/","projectTitle":"Learning Through Comfortable Spaces","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. May","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-3_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10403884"},{"teacherId":8165089,"projectId":9990853,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your kind donation to my classroom!
