The kids and I did the request for this during snack time one day... I had bought some books they wanted and they were asking for more and I was explaining that I could only buy so many per year for our class. I wondered if there was a way to get books donated and sort of randomly found Donors Choose and over the course of the next 10 minutes or so, let the kids make a list. I actually made them whittle it down quite a bit because I felt like we were asking too much. If I'd had any idea how quickly my friends and family, along with a few strangers, were going to jump up and chip in I would have let them request every book they wanted!\r\n\r\nThank you for being a part of getting those amazing graphic novels into my classroom. It was very exciting for the kids as they came in and there were waiting lists to read some of the most sought after books. I've definitely seen an uptick in time spent reading by choice, in excitement and joy in reading and sharing of favorite titles among my students.
