The color printer has helped transform simple guided notes and activities into something students actually want to interact with. Instead of plain black-and-white pages, students now have colorful maps, visuals, and notes with pictures and doodles that help them stay engaged and better understand the material. Many of my students are visual learners, so having color-coded notes and vibrant resources has made a huge difference in helping information stick.\r\n\r\nMy students especially love the creative projects we do with these materials. We use color constantly in our classroom, whether we are labeling maps, designing historical posters, or creating art-inspired projects connected to world events. Students who may not always enjoy traditional assignments like essays or presentations have really connected with these hands-on activities. I have seen quieter students participate more confidently because they feel successful expressing their understanding visually.\r\n\r\nOne of my favorite things to see is students getting excited over something as simple as a colorful handout. It sounds small, but it changes the atmosphere of the classroom. Students pay closer attention to guided notes, ask more questions, and take more pride in their work. This project has helped make learning feel more creative, welcoming, and personal for my students, and I am so thankful for the donors who helped make that possible.","fullyFundedDate":1771027769405,"projectUrl":"project/bringing-history-to-life-in-color/9871260/","projectTitle":"Bringing History to Life in Color!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Beck","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10340094_orig.jpg?crop=771,771,x81,y78&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1762192313691","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10340094"},{"teacherId":7259319,"projectId":9460036,"letterContent":"The donated books have completely changed the energy of my classroom. Students are reading more often, talking about books with each other, and actually getting excited about choosing what to read next. Having access to a wider range of titles means more students see themselves reflected in stories, and more of them are willing to take a chance on reading when they might not have before. Independent reading time feels purposeful instead of forced, and I've seen real growth in stamina, confidence, and engagement. These books didn't just fill shelves. They created a space where reading feels personal, accessible, and genuinely enjoyable for my students.","fullyFundedDate":1762186969219,"projectUrl":"project/shelf-help-building-a-classroom-library/9460036/","projectTitle":"Shelf Help: Building a Classroom Library for Lifelong Readers","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Jett","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7259319_orig.jpg?crop=2464,2464,x0,y271&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1750014998610","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/katiejett"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_9117","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":1438,"numTeachers":69,"percentFrplEligible":46,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":23,"percentWhite":58,"percentIndigenous":4,"percentLatinx":7,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":4,"gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"20.8:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":50.0,"schoolId":9117,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Hazel Green High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Hazel Green High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/alabama/madison-county-school-district/hazel-green-high-school/9117"}
