Teaching First Grade is so much fun and I love watching my students grow and learn. We all love science, which is why I chose a Lifecycle Project. We used the materials in all kinds of ways. \r\n\r\n1. My students were amazed that complete strangers sent them such fun science resources. The butterfly lifecycle sets were a huge hit. We used them to learn the lifecycle, we labeled pictures, made butterfly books, and of course the excitement of watching the caterpillars go through metamorphosis and become beautiful butterflies was amazing!!\r\n\r\n2. The insect specimens were also amazing. We played musical chairs and used the magnifying glasses to explore the parts of the insects and drew pictures of the insects. \r\n\r\n3. The ant farms were extraordinary!! This is one things I remember as child having in my 2nd grade classroom. My students shared the same excitement as I remember as a child coming in every morning and watching the ants tunnel through the sand. \r\n\r\nI look forward to using the materials in my classroom this school year with my new students!! I know the excitement will remain with my new students. Thank you again for you generosity in providing fun and interactive learning toys for my students.","fullyFundedDate":1744032850098,"projectUrl":"project/spring-into-the-world-of-lifecycles/9236260/","projectTitle":"Spring Into the World of Lifecycles","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Summers","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-5_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7507269"},{"teacherId":9698703,"projectId":8690640,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generosity. When my students seen all of the snacks that we received, they were very excited 1st and 2nd graders. We get a snack after activity in the mornings to hold us until lunch because it is such a long time in between.\r\n\r\nThese snacks make us better able to focus and learn. When a student is hungry their attention is solely on that. There little bodies and brains need these boosts in the mornings and afternoons to make it through their learning days. Some of my students come from a lower economic status so I know that they have at least had snacks and the meals at school to keep them throughout.\r\n\r\nOnce again my sincere thanks to all of those that helped with this project. The letters on the keys are bigger and bolder helping the kids find their keys easier when they are working on their keyboarding lessons. \r\nAs much as students use Chromebook, laptops and other devices these days I believe that learning to type accurately at this age is important and will continue to help them be successful throughout their school years.\r\nThe students have improved their keyboarding accuracy just within a couple of months and have been blazing through their typing lessons.
