My students and I are already using them regularly in music class. One especially memorable moment was our very first time students got to hold and play the ukuleles after learning about the basics of string names and correct posture. The ukuleles have given every student a hands-on opportunity to actively participate and feel successful as a musician.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the ukuleles, their excitement was immediate. Many could hardly wait to hold one and begin playing, even students who are usually hesitant to participate in music class. Seeing a full class set made them feel like real musicians, and their enthusiasm carried straight into learning. Several students commented that they couldn't believe they each had their own instrument to use, and that sense of ownership has made a huge difference in their confidence and engagement.\r\n\r\nThanks to your support, our next steps include expanding our current unit to include chord progressions and ensemble playing. Students will soon be working together to perform songs for classmates and possibly even for school events.
