This project supported all four fourth-grade classrooms, giving each classroom a copy of every title. Having access to the same collection of books across the grade level has opened up so many opportunities for students to discover new authors, genres, characters, and perspectives. Students have been excited to browse the new books, recommend favorites to their classmates, and find stories that they may not have picked up on their own. It has been especially fun to hear students talking about what they are reading and encouraging their friends to try a book they enjoyed.\r\n\r\nThese books are also helping us teach important reading skills in a way that feels meaningful to students. As we read, students practice making predictions, summarizing, determining the main idea and theme, making connections, using evidence from the text, building vocabulary, and thinking about characters and their choices. Reading in our classrooms looks different throughout the day. Sometimes students read independently and quietly, while other times they read the same book as a small group or participate in conversations about their thinking. Having multiple copies of each title means teachers across the fourth grade can use these books for book clubs, small-group instruction, partner reading, and shared discussions.\r\n\r\nOne of the most rewarding parts has been seeing students who don't always consider themselves \"readers\" find a book that pulls them in. Some students immediately gravitate toward certain titles, while others need a little encouragement or a recommendation from a friend. Once they find the right book, we often see them become much more engaged and eager to talk about what they are reading. Your generosity has helped us create more opportunities for those moments across all four fourth-grade classrooms. With these materials, I'm able to create small groups that target each student's needs; whether they're building foundational skills, practicing grade-level concepts, or tackling enrichment challenges. This flexibility has made math time more engaging and effective. Students are more confident and motivated because the lessons feel like they're designed just for them, not one-size-fits-all.\r\n\r\nWhat excites my students most about these new resources is how interactive and creative they are. They love exploring new games, puzzles, and practice sets that make math fun while still challenging them to think critically. Because I can continuously update and rotate the materials, math never feels repetitive or stale. Students are also able to see their own progress more clearly, which has boosted their confidence and participation during lessons.\r\n\r\nI've especially noticed a change in a few students who used to feel discouraged in math. Having access to materials that scaffold learning and provide visual supports has helped them find success and enjoy the subject again. On the other hand, my quick finishers are thrilled to have meaningful extension activities that push their thinking even further.
