Since they requested some of their favorite snacks, it has been great to provide them with motivation and support through this donation.\r\n\r\nWe still have a way to go, including two half marathons, a 30K race, and the big finale, which is the LA Marathon in March. Students planned rules, systems, and player interactions much like programmers plan code structure and user interactions. They had to debug and iterate on their game designs, mirroring the real-world problem-solving process used in computer science.\r\n\r\nThe robotics-themed board game helped students connect classroom concepts—like automation, logic, and algorithmic thinking—to real-world applications. It provided a highly engaging and interactive way for students to see how robotics and coding connect to strategy and decision-making.\r\n\r\nThese materials transformed our classroom into an environment of collaboration, creativity, and critical thinking. Students who were often hesitant to participate in traditional lessons became leaders during game-building sessions. They learned that innovation often starts with play, experimentation, and teamwork—key skills for future careers in computer science and technology.\r\n\r\nYour support gave my students the chance to learn through active creation and collaboration, and it made a lasting impact on their confidence and curiosity in STEM. For students in Calc C, they are able to engage in a flipped classroom, where they learn from videos at home and practice in class. This prepares them for college in a way that traditional high school instruction does not. \r\nFor students in all classes, they get more small group and individual attention as I am able to move around and control the board from anywhere in the room. \r\nFor students who are athletes or work jobs, they are able to experience instructional videos and in class exactly as done in class when they miss class.
