The students solved problems and then had to find the answer around the room which led them to another problem. The pictures are of students eagerly participating in the scavenger hunt. My students were so excited to receive Tasty Treats for their reading growth. We have been working really hard on two specific programs- Achieve 3000 and Amplify. With Achieve, students practice reading nonfiction articles (mostly current events) and building their vocabulary, comprehension, and analytical thinking skills. For Amplify, students have been reading grade level text (which is really difficult for them) and use independent reading skills to better understand it. \r\nThe tasty treats were a great motivator for my struggling readers. Each time they showed improvement on either program, we used a sticker chart to earn a little sweet treat!
