The Nurse's office here at Harrison Elementary is immensely thankful that we were able to provide students with temporary clothes and crackers when they had accidents and/or were ill. \r\n\r\nSome of our Kindergarten students struggle with the new school routines, and having clothes they can change into not only saves them time waiting for parents to bring in a replacement, but saves them embarrassment of sitting in the nurse's office in soiled clothing. The clothing was also used for students with accidents related to stomach issues, and our students were so grateful that we had options for them to change into when they feel sick and are soiled. \r\n\r\nThe crackers we received were so helpful. Instead of telling students that we have no options when they are hungry, we are able to offer a small snack to allow them to go back to class instead of laying in the health office in pain because they missed breakfast or are hungry. \r\n\r\nA gift of pants and crackers may seem like it won't impact students, but it allowed students more time in the classroom and less time in the health office. This time may seem inconsequential, but it helps more than you know. Thank you so much for everything that was given.","fullyFundedDate":1774461619725,"projectUrl":"project/nurses-office-supplies/10168631/","projectTitle":"Nurse's Office Supplies","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Seelbach","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-6_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10469770"},{"teacherId":6724736,"projectId":10496066,"letterContent":"Thank you so very much for allowing me the opportunity to purchase items for my classroom to make it feel more like a home. I purchased a rug for my classroom because I needed an area where all the students could sit on the floor, but still have their own personal space. Almost everyone who has walked in my room since me placing it on the ground has made a comment. The comment is almost exactly the same, \"I love this rug! It looks so nice.\" The students love having a space big enough to be their own, but still be next to their friends.\r\n\r\nThe second item I purchased was stools. The stools are around my kidney table where students can come if they need help from me. I purchased 10 of them and shared 5 with the new third grade teacher next door so that her students would also have a fun way to sit and get help. The stools take up less room than chairs so more students can come and work together. I also have a student who really struggles with school academically. Since getting the stools, he prefers to sit at the table next to me. This is a win-win for both of us. I can support his needs and he can feel more comfortable. \r\n\r\nWe will continue to use these items on a daily basis. They are already \"paid off\" in helping students learn. Thank you again so very much.","fullyFundedDate":1786972615096,"projectUrl":"project/3rd-grade-hes-classroom/10496066/","projectTitle":"3rd Grade HES Classroom","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Copenharve","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-9_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/6724736"},{"teacherId":10540167,"projectId":10356301,"letterContent":"The seating has arrived and the students couldn't be more excited. When the boxes were opened, students begged to sit on them immediately. They laughed as I tried to break-in the new bean bags and repeatedly slide to the ground. Once I gave students time to work on their writing, they rushed to snag a seat. The smiles on their faces while they worked were most certainly in-part to their comfort. \r\n\r\nAs we settle into the new school year, a student will inevitable take initiative to make a \"flexible seating chart\" where each student gets access to specific chairs on assigned days of the week. This is a point of pride for the students who make the chart. It's also a fun opportunity for collaboration. Without the seats, students would have one less thing to look forward to when they enter my classroom. The fun seating makes a huge difference in their day. \r\n\r\nThank you for your support, in more ways than one ; )","fullyFundedDate":1782754206662,"projectUrl":"project/6th-grade-flexible-seating/10356301/","projectTitle":"6th grade Flexible Seating","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Schenzel","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-4_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10540167"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_79061","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":281,"numTeachers":22,"percentFrplEligible":54,"percentAsian":5,"percentBlack":13,"percentWhite":57,"percentIndigenous":1,"percentLatinx":12,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":8,"gradesServed":"Pre-K - 6","studentTeacherRatio":"12.8:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":69.6,"schoolId":79061,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Harrison Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Harrison Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/nebraska/omaha-public-schools/harrison-elementary-school/79061"}
