The materials you helped me purchase were for my Martian Literature Unit. The items allowed the students to explore the novel and create their own world. We used and will use the material to build martian colonies to mimic the adventures of Mark Watney. \r\n\r\nAs the boxes started to appear, the kids became super inquisitive. However, I waited until all the items arrived before the great unboxing. Once we tore through the cardboard, the kids were desperate to use the Legos. \r\n\r\nIn the end, we used paint, stone, and foam to create the basic components of the martian landscape. Then we built up the walls of the colony. Once it was all completed, the students had to work together to keep their colony alive.
